The plastic bumper guards were a minor inconvenience. There are e pieces. The rubber molding that slips into the bull bar base. Then a flat piece that slides between the bull bars and a front piece that mates to the flat piece. Unfortunately the plastic groove is very thin and the slightest misalignment will Mar the groove and prevent it from lining up correctly.

Other than being time consuming, it wasn't difficult to put together.

I'm struggling to find a way to get the parking sensor mounts to sit flush. They have a gap that looks bad.

Last night I tore apart the chassis mounts from the frame again.

I found an arb zenith install video that the mounts are nearly the same.

I watched the video and realized the packers are the 6mm thick metal washers.
The confusion I had was that the only packers listed in the instruction .manual inventory were the m6 nylon washers for the liscense plate install.

I tore it down (4th time) again and followed the zenith instructions. I had success!

The trick was to hold tension with a screw driver under the intercooler bracket. Once I did that, the packer slipped into the right slot and the entire assembly seated correctly.

So today, I need to put the bumper onto the rig and complete the install. It's going to be another late night.

I've decided to hold off on the camera relocation for the moment. I'll see how much is obscured.

Success!

Had to rotate the parking sensor bevel 90 degrees and it slipped in. It's still a bit loose fit wise.

I strung up the wiring harness for the sensors. I'm going to have to split the harness up to get it to reach the inner mounts.

Had to take a break to go to work. I'll be back at it on Monday when I get home.

I did find this on insta. Which hit my feelings in the install perfectly.

Back at it today. Hoping to finish up, since I picked up ot shifts on Tuesday and Thursday. Unfortunately it's 103* outside! Fortunately the ac unit in my shop is blowing cold.

I had to run to town to buy a split loom for the parking sensor harness that I had to split.

While I was in good reception I called arb cs to see if the 1/4" gap between the chassis mount and Frame horns is acceptable.

Been waiting for a person to answer for 20 minutes...

I feel for you so much. We installed this moose juicer on our Bronco and I literally had to tear it down 4-5 times to get everything right.

Did you have a 1/4" gap between the chassis mount and stock bumper mount?

Arb said it was normal.

I can't get it to sit flush. I'm half tempted to grind out another quarter inch from the slot the cross bolt sits into

To be honest with you, I don't recall. I just remember having all kinds of issues just figuring out how the frame/horn reinforcements bolted up correctly.

I may not have noticed that gap as I also did the JKS max clearance kit which has a body mount piece that also mounts in there.

To be fair. I'm pretty sure the directions were written by someone who was told how to install the bumper from someone who was in the shop while another person installed it.

No kidding. Also the ones they print and send with it are in black & white. Grabbing the the full color PDF ones off their website are much much better.

I pulled the passenger side chasis mount off again. It was the one with the air gap. It feels like it is hanging up where it mates to the stock bumper mount plate.

I'm starting to think it may be out of spec. I'm going to paint it white and see where it is rubbing.

The driver side is flush against the stock bumper mount plate.

Couldn't find where the chassis mount was binding up.

I reinstalled it with the gap.

I got the bumper on solo. Used an engine hoist and some webbing. I wrapped the bumper corners with the bubble wrap from the packaging. Then manually adjusted it up and down while it was dangling from the hoist.

Once I got two bolts and nuts in per side. I crawled underneath and installed the rest.

The only hang up I'm having is the m10x40mm bolt is not long enough due to the gap.

I'll have to swing by the hardware store (again) and pick up an m10x50 to finish the install. After that, I have to route the camera, tie up the wiring harnesses, and wire the winch.

They must have changed the hardware. I struggled with the lower intercooler bolts, but the rest seemed to fall into place. I had to reroute the parking sensor and adaptive cruise wiring but neither required an extension. I did have to extend the camera wash hose. That said, I am old and it's been almost a year since I did the install so I may have just forgotten how bad it was. lol.

I'm thinking that one of my triangle brackets is out of spec. The drivers side mates up perfect. Passenger outside is the one giving me fits.

Per ARB tech support. It is ok to have a gap. Except the bolts aren't long enough to fully thread on. I am a bit concerned about torque the bolts down with only a few threads connected. I'm going to buy longer bolts today and just finish the damn thing.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I've been up since 4 doing small stuff. I cut out the camera hole and lo ated the parking sensor harness plug (forgot where it was!)

I don't think I can torque the inside mount bolts down. The winch is in the way. I'm going to have to give it my best guess on how tight it should be. Which should be fun since there is barely room to access the bolts
