Finally got around to removing the less than awesome plastic factory rear bumper and replacing it with the ARB Zenith Steel Bumper. I looked at countless bumpers, but ultimately decided on this one due to build quality, materials and in particularly how the tow hooks mount up to the bracket, versus welded to the bumper bar. We initially were waiting on a good swing arm bumper for the spare tire, and there are a few nice ones out there now, but they are pricey, way out on production and just otherwise not quite what we were looking for. The ARB install instructions are OK, but could honestly use clearer pictures and a bit more discussion. There are a number off gaps that would cause issue for people that need the instructions. Motorossa has a good install video as well, which can help if you get stuck. We did things a little different than the arb instructions and Motorossa as we wanted to clean up the wire harness more along the way integrating it with factory harness and and planned/prepared for its install while the bumper components were added.

Looks great. How's the fitment around the sides where it meets up to the fenders?

Fits great, lines right up and fits under the flares. In reality looks like it should be there more so then the bolt on end caps of the plastic and steel factory bumper.

How are the parking sensors working?
They work fine, real simple clip installation, similar to the oem. I will say the oem harness is mounted with a thousand and one push clips. The ARB bumper does not come with any specific harness supports or mounting areas, so you have to get creative there. I used screw in style zip ties on the screw mounts for the silver center plate and a couple other areas.

Looks good!
The ARB red accents really work with the Race Red as well.

Same here, I love the look of this bumper but just don't want to have to mount my plate on the spare.
Yup unfortunately there are only a handful of bumpers that do not have to relocate

That right there. There just aren’t any that keep the plate low that I liked as much. It was ultimately the one compromise I made, and in reality this along with running the wiring harness for the light is the most complicated part of the install. Without the spare you could mount it in the center very similar to older broncos.

I couldn't get JCR Offroad's license plate relocation bracket to fit, and didn't really want the plate on my spare anyway. And I certainly didn't want the hassle of wiring up a license plate light. I am in the process of having a local fab shop laser cut and bend me a bracket to attach my plate to the Crusader bumper's left side between my bumper and the tail light (just like a Wrangler.) The license plate light's plug is directly behind that area for easy access.

Those ARB bumpers are awesome looking and make me second guess my choice. 😀

The crusader is definitely a nice one. I liked the light mounts, etc. I was really considering the vanguard. I like my swinging gate on my 95. I liked that I could set it up with two gates. I didn’t like the price and how far out they seemed to be on production.
