Well, the first NWA meet and greet trail ride ended with copious amounts of Mexican food and nothing broken. Who wants to join the next one?

And what a great day it was, too! (That's @kodiakisland's 2-door Black Diamond in the photo above, and the 4-door Badlands is mine.)

@kodiakisland and I first met online here on the forum over a year ago. He is a few years younger than me, but we both grew up in small towns in southwest Arkansas less than 30 miles apart. I have been fortunate to travel all around the world, visiting 28 countries and living in 5 over the last 30 years. Yet despite my extensive travels, he is still one of the most interesting people Iā€™ve ever met. He used to live on Kodiak Island in Alaska, is an accomplished private pilot whom I have flown with on multiple occasions, and is a lifelong hunter -- also a favorite past-time of mine. So we have a lot in common, and we have developed a pretty cool friendship in real life. šŸ‘

Now that we both have Broncos, we met this morning at his home for a little off-road exploring down Cove Creek Road near Farmington, a little southwest of Fayetteville.

This is the formal study in his house -- the first room you see when you walk in the front door, with French doors and clear glass panels...

Yes, that's right. The focal point of the entryway to his home is a hunting trophy room with a reloading bench. Definitely my kind of guy!

But wait, there's more... including a few in the living room! šŸ˜

And this is his beautiful silver Labrador Retriever, Foxy, the lovely dog in his avatarā€¦

As you can clearly see from the photo below, Foxy is obviously @kodiakisland's baby...

Since neither of us have had a chance to install GMRS radios (i.e., General Mobile Radio Service) in our brand new vehicles, and we were going off the beaten path and well outside of cell tower coverage today, communication between vehicles would have been difficult, so we decided to just go together in the 2-door BD, which allowed us to talk throughout the journey, and also allowed me to snap some pics to share.

We didnā€™t tackle any great, technical challenges today, but we got the Bronco dirty, played around in 4x4, tested the Crawler gear, and scraped the bash plates.

Below are a few of my pics of the gravel roads, trails, bluffs, and creeks that we saw this morning, just to give you a sense for the Cove Creek Road areaā€¦.

After we explored for about 3 hours, we headed back to civilization for a late lunch of some hearty Tex Mex enchiladas at Gabriela's Mexican Grill Restaurant. šŸ˜‹

All in all, it was a wonderful day enjoying the great outdoors with a good friend.
Damn boys, thatā€™s effing awesome! Amazing that we are able to make these connections here and connect in real life. šŸ˜Š

Just want to gage interest in getting together next week, probably Wed, Thurs, or Friday (Jan 12,13,or14) for lunch and 4-5 hours of trails. Meeting point would be www.gabrielasmexicangrill.com in Prairie Grove, either for lunch and a ride, or an early ride and late lunch. Trail system would be off Cove Creek Road which is due south of Prairie Grove.

Trails are narrow jeep trails. Not overly difficult, but there are some areas that you will scrape the skids, mud holes up to the bumper, and some turns may require a 2 or 3 point turn with the 4 door. Light scratches are to be expected from brush and limbs along the trail. Recovery gear probably won't be needed, but should be available.

@Razorbak86 and I have been exploring these trails and some trails may be the first time we've been on them as well, so always expect the unexpected. We will not be doing anything too difficult or technical, but just realize we are not tour guides and are still testing these trails. These trails are new to me as they are ones I would not take my full size 4wds down. Even my Tacoma wouldn't make it through some of these turns.

If anyone in the NWA area has interest in joining and a particular day, please reach out to me or @Razorbak86
I'll be on the trails one of those days even if it's by myself.

If youā€˜d prefer to remain cautious, you can usually take a bypass, just like I did here!

Oh wait, wrong clip! šŸ˜‚

Unfortunately I'm out of town on business those days, but keep us posted how this goes and if you do more in the future. Love to join in soon.

Finally over COVID and off work this week. Anyone want to meet up Thursday (1/27) for lunch and several hours of trails?

Is Russellville central Arkansas? I donā€™t know, but thatā€™s what I chose. Hello everyone!
Hard to say. Thatā€™s kinda no manā€™s land there. I may see you around. Iā€™m in Dardanelle a bit.

Hey gang - question for the group. I finally hit a ā€œBuiltā€ status and EDD is showing the end of this month. Iā€™m going through Lewis in Fayetteville and I heard a rumor that they were requiring folks to sign something saying you would not sell the Bronco for 2 years. Has anyone run into this? Seems like complete BS, so curious if anyone has run into this with Lewis or any other dealers

I got mine at Lewis in November and didn't have any issues. No ADM and the only thing they asked if I wanted was an extended warranty. Said no and that was the end of it. Very quick and easy. Of course things can change, but would be surprised. I doubt anything you signed would be legally binding and I would force them to take you to court if you did decide to sell.
