Last week I was able to pick up my Black Diamond 4 door (non-mid package) with the 2.7.

For the life me I cannot get the autolock setting to work. I don’t have the mid package so I don’t have the intelligent access, but in the settings there is still an autolock option. No matter what though, it doesn’t autolock the doors when leaving the vehicle.

Has anyone else experienced this in a Bronco without the mid package?

Autolock is for locking the doors when you're driving the car, not for locking the doors when you leave the vehicle after shutting the vehicle down, so that's why it doesn't work as you're expecting it to do so.

Autolock is what locks your doors when you cross the ~15mph threshold, no?

Yes.

WHAT IS AUTOLOCK
Autolock is a locking feature that locks your vehicle doors when you start driving.
AUTOLOCK REQUIREMENTS

Autolock locks all the doors when all of the following occur:
  • All doors are closed.
  • The ignition is on.
  • Your vehicle reaches a speed greater than 20 km/h

Apparently this most simple of features wasn't included and we have to lock our own doors like cavemen. My habit is now to tap the "button" on the tailgate handle as I walk away and look for the tail light flash.

Autolock = ford speak for things locking automatically when going over 12 or 15 mph.

Which reminds me, can this be disabled through the regular interface or do I need to use ForScan.

That would explain it then. Haha Thanks for clearing that up. I’m amazed the definition never appeared in any of my many google searches on the topic before I made this post. Definitely would’ve saved some embarrassment, but it was worth the laugh. Thanks again! 🍻
