So I was driving home on the Atlantic City expressway yesterday, I was in the middle lane, doing about 80 mph and all of a sudden I hear the "DO,DO,DO" chime and I look down and there is a message that the vehicle shut off! Now luckley this time of year that highway is not over crowded so I was able to maneuver over to the shoulder. Once there I looked at the app and it said it was a "powertrain Malfunction" Started it back up and drove home (120 miles) no issues. Now it had sat in a parking garage since Saturday night, and it was single digits both nights, so I ring this up as a "computer glitch" and yes if it happens again I will get it checked.

My beef is having the vehicle shut off at any speed is dangerous!!! WTF Ford, Safety, Safety, Safety is all the Gov and car manufactures preach and yet killing the engine at driving speed for a "idiot light" so to speak is safe!!!

Anyway, got home fine, went to store latter that night and drove to work this morning in the snow storm no issues so will see, I tell you one thing that experience woke me up, It was about 0630 and I was going on about 5 hours sleep, after that I felt like I had 2 redbulls!

Ford Pass app may give you more detail on the code, and if not (and you don't have a scan tool) most auto parts stores can pull the code for you for free. If it were me I'd definitely want to know what caused it to shut down.
