Ironically I can’t get my switch to work.

I installed my ditch lights. To make sure the lights work I tested against the battery. They work.

I want to use Switch Three which I understand to be the Violet/Green wire (taped up here) located driver side cowl.

If I ground the ground wire (black) from the light and connect the power wire (red) from the light to the violet/green wire nothing happens when the “key on” or engine running when I flip Switch Three (or and switch).

What am i doing wrong?

Do you have voltage on that wire when the switch is turned on??

If so, it's probably a grounding issue. If not, then you'll have to check the fuse and see if you are getting power on one of the fuse legs. If you're not getting it at the fuse box, then... it's probably a tip to the dealership. Likely a bad relay or something like that within the junction box.

Checking voltage next was on my list next. The dark and rain curtailed that.

But basically I'm doing it right? The wire should be hot in ACC or ON?

Are you sure you have the right wire? Violet/ gray is the wire going to the grill vs violet /green.

RUN or START I believe. It's controlled by the BCM though so there is some microprocessor logic behind it.

You know, I don't know if I have the right wire. Grey and green look similar.

See if you can pick out the violet/grey vs. violet/green.

Anyways, that was it. Now in the light I can see the auxiliary wire routing better and won’t make the same mistake next time. Probably. Maybe. We’ll see…
