Sorry if this is already answered but I tried numerous searches and most seem to be related to non-B&O systems without factory subwoofers. I have a '23 WT Lux package and it came with the sub installed. I've switched the dash panel and rear pod speakers out already and it made a huge difference for sure. Now I'm noticing the subwoofer slap when volume is up so I want to switch that one also. What I need to know is if I can simply purchase an 8" subwoofer speaker and replace the factory speaker there without needing a new amp or running any new wiring? Just a simple speaker changeout to sound better. I'm not looking for "thumping" bass but just a better sound. Also, I have not been able to determine if there are any forscan changes needed for the B&O system? It sounds like you can't really make any changes to it...is that right? Thanks for any help here!

There are no FORScan changes for B&O systems. Regarding the sub, yes you can put in a Kicker 8" for example but there is some trimming of the factory enclosure needed. You're still going to have vibration and "slap". You may find when you take out the rear panel (& floor to get to the rear panel) that the enclosure bolts are loose. I did in my 22, but my 23 was tight. Ford changed the clips from 21-22 to 23 where they have an insulator so the vibration isn't nearly as bad. In both Broncos I disconnected the subs and added a Kicker Key500.1 along with a Kicker Solobaric 12" in a small truck box that I turned into a down-firing box.

The 23 sounded better factory than the 22, but once you turned up the volume you still got the vibration and "tinny" sub sound.

I tried leaving the factory sub connected to act as a mid-range but the vibrations (rattle) was still there. Disconnecting that sub and only running the Kicker sounds 100x better.

There is a video from Ragnarkon about the enclosure mod for a Kicker 8. His install is in a non-B&O Bronco but he sourced a B&O enclosure so that part fits what you're looking to do. Beyond this, you may want to add sound deadening in the right rear area. I did not add anything, but my setup doesn't rattle until 20 or so on the volume.

There is little to no mod necessary for the B&O enclosure (literally a small centering tab that can be removed with an xacto knife) and new holes for the screws. The Kicker speaker will need the beauty ring removed - tedious but not difficult. As for whether or not that works without an amp - I was going to try it, but I was so far down the rabbit hole at that point I went with the key 500.1 and couldn't be happier. I also swapped out all my other speakers though - so don't expect too much with the existing B&O - it's a bit of a disappointment unfortunately.

So, you replaced the b and o amp completely? or did you use the kicker key for the sub only? I like the idea of replacing the sub in the existing enclosure. I dont want an extra sub on the trunk floor or on the tailgate.

The tab is on the bottom face of the enclosure, it is about an inch long and maybe the thickness of a credit card. You will notice it when you rest the sub in the opening as it causes the wumb not to sit flush. The opening itself is the right size. The beauty ring can be removed by wedging a screwdriver between the metal basket of the sub and the plastic ring that says KICKER. I kept the sub resting face down on the cardboard packing while I pried the plastic ring apart in pieces, eventually it loosens the entire ring.

I kept the existing B&O amp, replaced with better higher efficiency speakers and added the Key 500.1 only for the Sub and ran that off the sub line level outputs. The only indication of anything beyond stock is the remote volume knob for the sub. My slide out tailgate hides my amp and onboard air.

I just had a Focal Flax Evo 8" Sub (P-20FE) installed in my BadSquatch 2door Lux..
The installer claimed no modifications needed to factory incloser for this Sub..
You just replaced the subwoofer and kept the stock b&o amp ?, if so, the improvement was worth it? Any complaints ?

I was considering this sub and curious how it worked out on B&O amp and any aftermarket if added on...
