Battery maintenance !!!

Hey, do ya all remember when your vehicle battery finally died and all you had to do was just put in a new one and that was it !!!
Now ya gotta pump your brakes, flash your lights, drive the car straight for 2 miles over 40, reset your windows and probably something else I missed, oh, and don't forget, if you have to disconnect your battery leads you gotta wait 3 minutes after you turn off the vehicle or it'll wack it out !!!

When I installed my High Mount Intercooler I disconnected my battery and did not have any issues when I reconnected it. When replacing a battery in any newer car the first thing I do is take the fob out of the vehicle and put it on the workbench. Disconnect. Always negative first then positive. When done re-connect. Always positive first and negative second. Then get the fob to start it.

Sounds more like the Bronco "loose" fuse box maybe????


By the way why was the battery dead??? Are you sure the battery did not just need recharged because it had been sitting for a while without being disconnected??? New vehicles have a tremendous draw on the battery and if not driven the battery should be disconnected. IMO

Could be worse, my BMW battery needs to be programmed to the car with their software. I don’t have that software so the battery plus the installation and programming $460.
