When I don’t use my cars for a while, I connect them to a battery tender. I have noticed an annoying issue on my Ford Pass App (with both my full-size Bronco and my Bronco Sport). After a few weeks, while still on the tender, the car will go to “battery saver mode.” This disallows me from accessing any remote activity, like lock/unlock, location or start.

I’ve never had this kind of issue with apps for other cars. So far, the Bronco still starts when I get there or ask someone to start it for me with the fob. It’s the remote features that are disabled until the car is physically started again.

Has anyone had this issue, found it annoying, and/or discovered a way to prevent it from going into battery saver mode?

I wonder if that is something that could be disabled with Forscan? If you have Forscan it might be worth looking through the modules on the "easy" mode side where you can see the options.

Not sure about Forscan

But for newer Fords it’s normal for them to enter deep sleep after a couple of weeks of no activity regardless of battery state. Think it’s something like 12 or 14 days of no activity

You cannot directly attach the negative terminal to the battery, or the battery management system will not see that the battery is being charged. Please watch this video, at the minute 13 mark.
