Are you running with a rust coating on the frame / undercarriage while on those salty beach flats?Headed down to Padre Island National Seashore here in TX last weekend and was able to dial into sand mode and get way off the beaten path for some beach cruising for the first time. Past the 5 mile marker, 4 wheel drive and high clearance is required - and you have miles & miles of beach to cruise if you have the right vehicle. The Sasquatch did great thru all the soft sand - I've been looking forward to this since I ordered my Bronco and it did not disappoint. We drove out until we had a long stretch all to ourselves and not another person in sight in either direction. Fun way to kick off the summer.
Also - I've been doing a few upgrades to my Base - added oval nerf step bars that help getting in and out (and also provide some protection against rocks getting kicked up) and on the front end - added forged D rings and a nudge bar with light kit. Tied the Amber DRLs into the running lights - and aux switches for white spotlights. Looks and works great!
Why on the bucket list? ( I know nothing of that area )Dang I was startin to get worried I wasn't ever going to get to see a pic of the ocean, but I finally got to one!!!!
Awesome pics and awesome Bronco. My brother used to live in Corpus so I got to drive on the beach a couple times, he has tales of heading past the 5 mile marker....definitely on my bucket list!
a long way, if I remember right it is 60 miles or soof beach driving but someone from there with a lot more knowledge than I will hopefully chime in. I looked on google earth if not for one cut you could drive all the way to the Mexican border it looks like. My brother took his YJ way down the beach where he said the fishing was fantastic because nobody goes that far. I want to go for the desolation and live on the beach for a week! Why on the bucket list? ( I know nothing of that area )
How much shoreline can you drive there?
