As the title states — I’ve finally bit the bullet and spent all my FordPass “Stay Pumped!” points on an ARB ZERO 47qt fridge for the trunk of my 4dr. Since I saved a pretty penny on the fridge itself, I figure I should investigate how to install it properly with a slider.

How are most folks installing fridge sliders? Does it require installing some sort of platform to the D-ring mounting spots in the trunk, so you can drill into the platform and mount the slider securely? I’m fairly competent with my hands so rigging up a plywood + carpet base wouldn’t be too bad, just wondering how others have accomplished the same. Thanks!

You will need a platform to mount it to. There are several companies that have platforms for the Bronco now. American Adventure Labs, JCR off-road and Goose Gear to name a few. Or you could build your own. Lots of examples out there. I did my own for now for about $150. Drawer storage next.

Nice install.

Without a full width platform one would at least need crossbars of some sort such as 2x4s to reach from side to side. D-rings get removed and relocated above platform and platform attaches to original holes.

A narrow platform just wide enough for the track does not give more than 2 mounting locations to floor of vehicle which compromises the install.

Ideally a platform that is hinged at the front would allow access to the under floor storage (yes with a little muscle if fridge is installed)

You could build a floor frame with 80/20 pretty cheap (TNUTZ), attach it to to tie downs.

Something like this but without the shelf on the right and maybe just flat bars going all the way accross.

Basically a flat rectangle

Please explain more details. How did you mount base? Is fridge slide part of the $150? What brand?

The base is bolted down using the location of the factory D-rings. The fridge slide is not part of the $150 for the base. You should probably look for a slide that is made from your fridge if possible. Mine is an Iceco slide designed for my Iceco fridge model.

What sliders are you using?
Recently built a ply base and tried to install the RC slider but it is to long.

You should look for a slider that is designed for your fridge.

The slider fits the fridge, not the vehicle.
Maybe i'm missing something. Is the slide larger than the fridge? Can you post a picture of the slide in the vehicle? Thanks.

Yes, slide is larger than the fridge. I didn't take a picture of it in the vehicle, but it has 2 tabs that stick out past cargo area to the plastic piece that the gate covers when closed.

What size fridge is it? you should be able to find a slide that fits your fridge and in the Bronco. There are plenty of slides that fit in the back of the bronco.
