Counterpoint - It's awesome seeing racecars race. Look at Goodwood Festival of Speed. Stuff like this happens when you race and if you can afford to pay 1.7M you can pay to fix it.

Would rather see Big Oly on her head in a race than sitting at a museum.

One could build a replica of Oly for a lot less then $1.7 million, if running the machine as intended was the want.

Why would anyone do that to an old historical race truck? I would spend that $1.7million on two state of the art Mason AWD trophy trucks with 1100hp big block power plants and go racing. It would certainly be alot more fun than getting thrashed around in an old 1970's off-road racing dinosaur with 6 inches of wheel travel. But its their money they can do what they want with it. Is Olympia Beer still around?
