Bilstein 8112 UCA's needed?

For those of you running the 8112's did you need UCA's and how do you like them? How do they behave on-road and are they worth the $$$$?

Back story- I've had my Bronco about two years and have had a Winch awaiting installation for almost as long, but can't seem to do the installation because I know I'll need to lift the front to compensate for the additional weight. I've been reading and researching every available suspension option for way too long and have yet to find the perfect solution (stuck in a loop).

I had narrowed down my choice to Fox 2.5's, but don't need the lift provided, ideally I'd prefer about an inch over stock (SAS) at most as I have no need to run 37's (one of my Scouts is on 42's for those types of trails). My research reveals that the Foxes will result in 2" to 3", at that height the Bronco would be uncomfortable for the wife.

The Bilstein 8112's show up a ruin my plans, the price is pretty steep. But, they offer the amount of lift I'd need to keep the Bronco level with the added weight of a winch. Anyone who has priced them knows that they are not cheap, but if UCA's are not needed it brings the price of the 8112 equal to or less than the Fox 2.5's w/UCA's.

You will not need new UCAs if only doing a 1” suspension lift. You should not have any issues with alignment.

You shouldn't. But I think the max adjustment on the 8112s is 3.3 inches. So if you max it out... I wouldn't be surprised if UCA are needed.

I haven't installed my 8112s yet, but I have no intention on installing UCAs. But I also don't intend to go above factory ride height.

Now I just gotta wait for the snow to melt before installing.

My friend on 8112’s is on stock UCA’s and 35’s and is all in spec on the alignment rack

Plenty of people run a winch with no lift. It only brings the front down at most 1/4 inch they say.
I am about to add a winch so I will find out if it does make a difference. The weight of a winch is much less (1/3) compart to the weight of a passenger and you don't need to add a lift to have people in the truck.
A lift would be nice just to have but, my bronco will be too tall to fit in the garage if I lift it.
It will look better with a lift.
If all you are doing is making up for some sag then the control arms will just be returned to the position they were in before the winch and other gear was added so you should not need new control arms so you are not really lifting it.

As others said, you won't need aftermarket UCA's with the lift amount you are shooting for. With regards to the Fox 2.5's, I gained just under 2 inches up front and just under 1 inch in the rear, over SAS. I have a First Edition so it's on the heavier side, like your Badlands. Mine are also tuned by Accutune, so not sure if that factors into the lower base lift than what you have found with the Foxes. I am really happy with the minimal lift and I am also sticking with 35's. I am still considering raising the rear just a bit more, to get some rake back.

Your passenger is in the middle of the vehicle so only half their weight is on the front axle. So for a 200 Lbs person that's a 100 lbs on the front axle. I don't know how much my winch weigh is but considering I lifted it out of the box it came in it has to weigh less than 80 Lbs.

My winch is making my stock badsquatch front squat a bit with my very heavy ARB summit bumper (that I love) with a 60" hilift. If you are squatch just remember most all of those lift numbers are or non squatch. Usually get a little over 1" front for most coil setups.

Also, if you just want 1" a top hat puck in front only will do that.

It seems most are 70-80 lbs in the worst possible place, in front of axle. Still its not a lot in the big picture.

Unfortunately its not just the weight of the winch but also the winch mount or bumper. My Warn with synthetic is 84 lbs and my 8274 with cable is over 100 lbs.
This does result in a decrease in front height, actual measurements provided by members here show anywhere from 1/2” to 1 1/4”. This added to an already nose low stance leads my need to add some front lift.
