This is the first major mod I did to my 2024 Black Diamond Sasquatch.

I just had them installed today so not a whole lot of time with them but the first impressions are good. Mostly impressed with how well it soaks up the high speed stuff. The low speed is really good too but I was most shocked by how little the vehicle moved over a bump that usually very noticeable.

I’m excited to have some more time with them and get them more dialed in.

I like how it leveled it out. In the photo it appears to still have a slight rake. I’m not sure if it will settle or if it’s because how my driveway is angled. I noticed when I parked it sort of lunges forward when I let my foot off the brake after putting it in park.

Who did you order them from? Did you have a local shop install and do the alignment or did you put them in yourself?

If possible I'd move this to the top.

I ordered them through Shock Surplus before the price increase. I actually started to install them myself but quickly realized

I ordered them from Shock Surplus. Honestly I started to install them myself but quickly realized that it was going to take me more time than I have available to install them myself so I took it to a local shop and had them install the kit and do the alignment.

I see why you would say that as it doesn't seem like the best spot. That is where the Bilstein install manual has them and the tolerances with the reservoir line length are pretty tight. I'm just hoping that they really did their homework with the front reservoir location because I know other kits put the front ones in different locations.

Would it reach the top of the crash bar?

The other problem with that res location is if you go 37s and get the JKS max clearance kit, that mounting location is gone.

Man you guys are really focusing on that front reservoir location haha!

I realize this particular kit isn’t for everyone’s use case, I knew going in that the 8112’s were designed for running 35’s. I have no desire to move up in tire size. This kit gave me exactly what I was looking for, a high performance suspension solution with minimal lift or need to change a bunch of components.

In my opinion there is no incentive for me to alter the way it was installed. I had a professional shop install the kit per the manufacturer’s instructions. If I have any issues I am able to at least say “hey we followed your instructions”.

This suspension was on the top of my list. After watching the ShockSurplus youtube, it looks pretty impressive. I would want 37s if I am spending $6,000 on suspension. Even at a lower lift height, which would mean I would have to do the JKS kit.

Seems to me that given the intentional design decisions of Bilstein for the 8112's (for example, sticking with stock SAS travel, compression, extension, etc.) there are more than a few better options for 37-and-lift on the market.

Not sure why you would want to shoehorn these into a 37 or more (and all the associated geometry changes) tire/lift combo...

I had my eyes on this kit for a while as well. I’d have to find the source, but I recall the ShockSurplus guys saying that you could likely run 37’s with a spacer on top of the shocks. I didn’t look into it too far though because I’m not planning to go any larger in tire size.

I think the Bilstein guys said in their podcast last year that you could run 37's, but you would need aftermarket fenders.

I’m actually considering trying these on my long arm….trying to get info on the front springs. They are only .30 and .29 shorter travel than my kings if I remember correctly. I have small 37 km3s. I don’t see why they couldn’t be made to work but I would hate to spend that much and be disappointed I switched.
