Very happy with how it turned out. Lesson learned, save money and just paint your hooks as the black hooks aren't coated as well as our original silver ones were.

Looks good, you did a solid job on the bash plate! I think if I go in this direction I will have it powder coated. My Raptor had a custom ADD bumper that they powder coated white to match my truck (the bash plate and inserts). I was amazed how well that powder coating held up to serious bashing on rocks and dunes. I worry that paint would scratch off (would never do Plasti Dip for just that reason). How is your paint holding up?

Powder coating is definitely the way to go. There are a few tiny specs from rocks/,debris where I can see the original silver. You have to be up and close to notice it. I'll coat it again when/if this ice age ever ends.

Anybody happen to buy new hardware for the bash plate (in black) versus painting or leaving them silver… if so, where’d you get them? …best I can tell they are M10 bolts, but the head on those things are massive… (no jokes required…)

I am contemplating this adventure. I have red recovery hooks and will probably leave them red. Black out the bash plate and buy the black trim.
On velocity blue I am thinking I will be happy with the result.

Seems a number have done this and each in their own way. I wanted to use as much OEM hardware as possible and worked with my favorite Ford parts guy to track down hardware from the new for 2024 Bronco Raptor Black Appearance Package. I started by finding the VIN for a Raptor equipped as such and getting it to him so he could peruse the HVBOM and come up with some part numbers and prices for these two areas...

Bash plate - forget it as it was over 2k. Backup plan for that part was to paint as others have done. I wanted the two "hooks" as I figured the coating on the OEM pieces would be better than paint, etc. And I wanted the plastic trim piece in black as again, I figured it would be more robust than painting the original silver piece.

Plastic piece was perfect. The black hooks...coating was shit. Chips galore, barely a single coat on them. I chose to eventually coat them with POR15.

Install was relatively straightforward.

I did have to pull the bumper off to get at the tiny screw holding each hook in place (thanks Ford!). Be sure to disconnect the wiring harness connector on the driver side of the bumper in order to be able to lower the bumper assembly down and out of the way.

I degreased the silver bash plate, dried it off, warmed it up, and painted it with SEM Trim Black (2 cans).

Just for shits, I placed the silver one back on...

Is that the part number on the box for the black bumper cover? I called Ford about it today but they told me that number is showing to be silver. Thanks

Plastic fascia - I used the exact same push pins that came on the vehicle.

I painted the bolt heads of the 4 bolts for the bash plate (I used some POR15) but I think the Black Appearance package uses "silver" bolts just like stock. I used the POR15 because it stays a little soft and the finish will undoubtedly get tweaked any time a socket is used on them such as when loosening the rear two so you can remove the rearward plate for an oil change.

The two cans of SEM paint were enough to get three coats on both the front and the back. I still have about a third of the second can left.

I paid $180.30

Do you have the part number for the black plastic bumper cover? Thanks

I went and looked at my receipt, same part number...

I checked the part number in the Ford system and you're right, it does say silver.

Ford Bronco Blacked out bash plate and bumper sections part number

If I enter the system with the VIN from my own Bronco Raptor and visit the same section, I get the following listing which is indeed the stock silver cover. Of note, the price difference between the two. If they were both silver, from the same year Bronco Raptor with the only trim choices being silver and the other black, this should raise a flag that the verbage is inaccurate for at least one of them in the part description.

So here's a window sticker for a 2024 Bronco Raptor with the "Black Appearance Package."

Running that VIN through the Ford system, note that under the "Application" heading that the part is listed as being from "Appearance Group #2." Bronco Raptors that came with the standard, silver piece won't show Appearance Group #2 under that heading.

Ford's system is notorious for not having accurate descriptions. The black piece is still listed as silver but at least I can confirm, I bought the black one using the part number you see on the box and on my receipt.

Have your dealer use the VIN in the sticker I posted that shows it has the Black Appearance Package. Ask them to look through the HVBOM if they need to further verify.

Looks great!! I hope this still works on the 2026 model! I think this will be the first mod with pocket lights if bumper has to come off..- I still dont understand who at Ford thinks Silver was a good idea with nothing silver on the truck.. what material is the bash plate made from? Assuming steel? If so, ill be powdercoating it along with tow hooks and just get the black plastic trim piece..
