Okay, sounds crazy. I have a 24' Badlands, 2.3l 7spd manual. I installed the TurboSmart BOV and it sounded great. A month later I installed the Injen CAI and the AFE hot/cold turbo charge pipes. Install went fine, except for the fact that the TurboSmart BOV did not sit flush on the new AFE charge pipe. I bought a washer to cover the gap (pic below). The other part I wasn't too happy with was that the inlet going into the turbo, looks like the soft rubber elbow creases a little bit, hopefully not affecting flow too much (pic below). Was excited to hear how it sounded, but I'm really disappointed. Hardly hear the intake from the cab at all. And when I drive even somewhat aggressive and get the spshhh sound, it sounds like the blowoff valve is sneezing. Or like a "spshhh-hubbadah" sound, Lol. Almost like something is physically making a clunk noise. Is this maybe the intake letting some of the sound out as well and it's doubling up? Or could it be the BOV not seating properly? Doesn't sound right.... But only when spitting out extra boost.

There is an o-ring that should seal against the flange on the charge pipe. If you aren't hearing it release, then either it isn't opnening or you have blocked the vent port on the BOV.

The sneezing sound may be the boost venting back past the turbo when you close the throttle and the air has nowhere to go. It is not at all good for the turbos so you'll want to check it quick

edit: theres a thread on a similiar issue with the AFE charge pipes, wouldn't be surprised if they used the same flange.

Thank you Strizzo. I'm confident that the O-Ring is in the right spot, same as the outer O-Ring that is now seating up against the washer. I think I'm going to put the stock recirculatory valve back on and see if it still does it?

I took the TurboSmart BOV off and put the stock recirculatory valve back on. Still makes the sneezing sound. I know a lot of people really love the Injen on the 2.3l, but I couldn't be more disappointed. Can't hear any intake sound from the cab, and it does like a double spsh when shifting in the higher RPM range. Might sell it and try something else.

I have the Injen intake on my 2.3 with factory charge pipes and a cpe intercooler. I can definitely hear the intake sucking in air under boost, low and high.

My only gripe with the Injen intake is how much of a pain in the ass it is to check/clean/replace the air filter. You pretty much disassemble the entire thing to get the filter out, terrible design. Oh, and also it not having a drain hole in the bottom of the air box, easy fix I know.

I am also still using the oem valve and the only feedback I have on that is a pop/release sound once the valve slams shut. Pretty standard as the OEM piping has a ton of sound deadening foam bits throughout it blocking the sound.

I have considered several times switching back to them oem intake with an aftermarket filter or trying COBBS system.
For now, I will continue using the Injen as I just put a new filter in it that should be good for a while.
