You already got good tips on fixing it yourself but if it were my new vehicle I would absolutely bring it to the dealers attention and get some “consideration” for it. I mean your paint is chipped. If you’re going to self fix, at least have them give you free touch up paint and a discount on your next service.

My “24 was built Jan 2024 just after the UAW strike ended.. I had both doors, fuel door & rear tailgate (re)aligned by the dealer a week after taking delivery. I was told “there’s not a lot of adjustment” for the rear tailgate… other than the Bilstein recall, I’ve been lucky!

Im curious if anyone else has experienced a tailgate and rear fender alignment issues? Ever since day one of ownership ive noticed the terrible tailgate and panel alignment. but i just kind of overlooked it/accepted it as not really worth bringing up and having to sit at the dealership on my day off to have it looked at. However recently i noticed there must have been actual contact because im noticing paint chipping starting to occur. I loosened the bolts a little to see if there was any adjustability to be had there, but i guess the adjustment is where the hinge actually attaches to the chassis. Anyone else have this issue? Will Ford fix this under warranty? Its a 2025 with less than 8,000 miles on it.

hard to see the paint chipping in the pics.

Hard ro believe that got out of the factory like that. Are you the first owner? Positive it wasn't hit before you had it? If you bought it new you may have a case but I'll bet the dealer claims its "too late". Check the fender bolts under the hood for witness marks from a wrench having been on them. That panel fit looks more emblematic of an accident with repair at the Stevie Wonder school of Body Repair than a manufacturing defect.

Yes sir. First owner. Factory ordered. Tried to find a picture of the rear. But this is the best I could do. I zoomed in on a picture I took. Hard to tell but you can see how close it is. This was day one of ownership.

Wow. That's pretty disappointing. Definitely file a warranty claim with Ford. My '23 Big Bend has pretty decent panel alignment although the gaps are a bit wider than they could be. The paint however is thin and chips very easily. Shines up decently however. Mass production doesn't get you much these days.
