Boondocking Lone Cone

[White Rock]

Lone Cone, CO was a blast touring the mountain roads from base camp. After a week, we moved to campground in Ridgeway and explored some more.

Owl Creek Pass, Corkscrew Gulch, California Pass, and Engineer Pass in a day. Finished up with the Last Dollar Rd to see some snow capped mountains on our way into Telluride.

I'm totally not finished out there in Colorado. I had my wife crying in the back seat, but in her defense my 15 yo son was driving 100% of Last Dollar Road into Telluride.

It's a custom grill by Saleen Performance. Daniel Webster or Spring Hebler are the people that can get you fixed up. This was part of the Black Label package they installed on my Raptor chassis.

Thank you for the compliment. She does have some thick hips but it's a Raptor chassis on stock 37's. Sticky like gecko feet too!

That's a great area. Spent two weeks in the Silverton area in late August. Did the Ophir pass which was very nice. Wanted to do the Alpine Loop but a morning storm kept us off the trail for a few hours but finally got started South of Ouray, entering from the North on Engineer Pass Road along Mineral Creek. Got some tears out of my wife too on that section! By the time we got to the crossroads at Animis Forks, it was late and we headed straight to Silverton for some much needed pizza and beer! Next time I'll skip that section. It was a long haul from PA to CO but we will be back!

Man, I left some trails undone out there. We wanted to do Mineral Pass for more of a challenge, but went Cork Screw Gulch/California/to Engineer Pass into Lake City.

I'm guessing a pilgrimage from PA took some time getting there too! You put in the miles!
