So much to unpack here so this post may get edited a couple of times.

I took a weeklong off-roading trip to the Breckenridge Colorado area with my Bronco and off-road club Midwest Krawlers a few weeks ago. Did some pretty epic trails.

Georgia Pass, Saints John, Chihuahua Gulch, Red Cone, Wheeler Lake, Clear Lake, Peak 10, and last but certainly not least Holy Cross.

The Bronco did awesome for the most part. My only major hiccup was that I forgot to check my air filter before the trip. Lots of dust roads combined with an already dusty air filter combined with 12,000-13,000 elevations, I struggled with some power issues climbing over big obstacles on the first day. Stopped by the local Ford dealership got a new filter and my issues were resolved the rest of the trip.

Only had to pull winch line once all week, on the first obstacle on Holy Cross. It had rained quite a bit the day before and there was a bit of mud and water sitting at the base. If you know this obstacle it's a shelf slab that is angled and off-camber. We had a big group, there were 2 groups in front of us and one behind, and with the slick conditions it just wasn't feasible to take a bunch of time on multiple attempts. I made up for it by taking a right-hand side (hard) line on French Creek Crossing. Holy Cross was epic and my favorite by far. Wheeler Lake was beautiful and had some great obstacles.

We had about 20 rigs come on this trip and another 20 or so went out to Ouray for the week.

Nice! Rolling over the top of redcone has always taken my breath away no matter how many times I do it.

Did anyone point out the bristelcone pine at the top of 10 to you? Those trees are over 3000 years old and are some of the oldest living things on the planet!

Looks like a great trip and some great memories!

Red Cone was definitely butt pucker for me. I don't like heights so that super narrow section of saddle where it's trail width and a 2000 ft drop on one side and 800 ft drop on the other, ya... I couldn't post that video because there were more than a few holy f***ks.

Peak 10 was still snowed in so we didn't get to go all the way to the top.

Awesome Colorado tour.

Shocked Holy Cross isn't more pronouced with the amount of snow this year.

Red Cone gets the heart rate going in 3 spots.

A while back someone made a post about how the Bronco really isn't a rock crawler? Do the boulders in French Creek qualify as rocks?

Was that you @Tricky Dick?

I live to prove that statement wrong.

You feel like you're at the top of the world on Red Cone. Wheeler lake is just a beautiful spot and really fun trail; wish I'd had enough time to camp out there for a few days.

Looks like a great trip.

Looks like an epic trip, thanks for sharing! I have been on all of those trail and they are some of the best Colorado has to offer! Full disclosure I did Holy Cross before I had my Bronco and just last week I chickened out on Wheeler lake after the cement mixer because I was not with any other vehicles and got concerned about getting in a jam.

Looks like a fun trip thanks for sharing.

Hoping to make it out there next month. I'm use to driving old Jeeps where smacking a rock and body damage is mostly something to laugh about, so driving the new Bronco will be an adjustment. Glad to hear your's handled the trails well.

How often did you have to use the rear and/or front lockers? And how are those flush taillights working out? Those are nice would like to get a set someday.

I used the front and rear lockers off and on all trip. It's better on the trails to put lockers on when you think you may need them and get up easy than it is to go without until you get stuck them turn them on. If I was on any kind of obstacle the rear locker was on, the front I turned on as needed. Holy Cross definitely requires lockers, 1000%, Wheeler Lake does too for the most part.

Make sure you have good rock rails. I have true frame mount rails from RCI. They're awesome, bolt on with no drilling and they DO NOT move, solid. The other Bronco in our group has body mount rails and she ended up bending up one where they had to jump on it to bend it back down to open the passenger door.

The Oracle flush tail lights worked as expected. After I upgraded to the ADD Stealth Fighter rear bumper I took out my driver side tail light (the signature tail lights stick out 3" diagonally) so I had to swap them. It's funny the Oracle set was half the price of just the one factory replacement light.
