I bought my 23 Raptor with 14K miles for $60k. The window sticker was still in the car and someone paid in the ballpark of $89K for it new just two years earlier. That's a LOT of depreciation. Basically why I tend to buy used with low miles as I'm not taking the depreciation hit out of the dealership.

It may not be as good as you think. In 3 years your Raptor will be worth $30-35k taking roughly the same depreciation dollar wise as the first guy.

Makes sense I only put about 1k miles per year on my cobra so it's about $600 for $60K agreed value policy (through USAA Collector car division)

You might want to get a quote through Hagerty...could save a few hundred annually.

The two claims I've had were paid and closed within a week, check in hand. One was hail and the other was when some dilweed backed into the XK8.

I don't think aftermarket mods actually depreciate the value but they certainly won't add much, if any, to the actual resale value. That's why I am returning my '21 BL back to stock before selling it, well, with the exception of the wheels and maybe a few other minor mods. Then the bumpers, coilovers, tires, and whatever else will get offloaded on one of the marketplace's.

Ill go one better...'16 Jaguar F-Type, manual, coupe...1 of 440 that year with stick.

Sticker was ~$93K and I got it new as the '18s were hitting the shore, so substantial discount.

I rolled it on Labor Day, total loss. Insurance claimed it was barely worth $21K despite the TWO available in the US being listed at close to $40K. They refused to consider them because they were more than 500 miles away.

Man you couldn't pay me to drive a Jaguar now days, I don't care if it was the only one in the country.

Just think about all the Bronco owners who paid $20K ADM back in 21&22.

Its not as many as you think, and those that paid $20K ADM didn't expect to get it back.

I'm in the same situation. My 22 Base has factory mod bumper and aux switches making it unique.

I was referring to his 3 year old truck 3 years from now. So when the truck is 6 years old.
New-> 3yrs old
$89k-> $60k

3yrs -> 6yrs old
$60k-> $30-35k

Similar depreciation. It's speculation but I think it is reasonable to assume a 6yr old truck will be worth 35% of MSRP.

Possessing, looking at, tinkering on, and driving. I have just over 11,000 miles on my 2011. My 2013 Audi RS5 has seen the majority of my spirited driving, however. I bought it in 2019 at 44,000 miles, and it's sitting just under 65,000 now. Don't get me started on how many miles my Bronco has on it...

I think it’s funny I snagged my 24 7mt used with 600 miles for $20k off sticker… nobody wanted a 2dr, Sasquatch, 7mt, big bend? I also got $37.5k for my 4dr base sas 2.7 soft top with 60k miles. Added a good chunk of positive equity into the new loan.

The above fit dad to a T. He was a concours winner in the driven class with two of his Jags. Before the Jags, it was a couple of Mustangs at the regional level. He spent more time washing and waxing than driving except when he drove to events. And when he passed, he still had the '68 Volvo 1800 he bought in '69 and had registered to run the '68 Hemisphere plates. His cars brought him joy, especially after retirement.

By the same roken, the Rolex Daytona mom bought him circa 1978 or so for less than $1K was just a watch...he would wear it everywhere including mowing the yard. Mom recently decided to sell it...the initial offer was close to $25K and I'm sure the store had a buyer for it at close to $40K. But it will make someone else happy...

There are many of us on this board that have different ways of using our vehicles and money. We all value our time and money differently...
