Just the base in my 17 fusion is ok,but the base in my 12 F350 sucked so I put in a Alpine system,It seems the factory"base"systems get better year by year.

Incubus will be the first band playing in the Bronco. Might as well have it sound good.
Only one of those things can be true. ;)

It's all going to sound like speakers in the open air, but it has to be better than my old JK stereo.

I will probably at some point upgrade the speakers and add some amps. My biggest concern is integrating with the stock touchscreen/wheel controls. I am leaving that part alone but have heard some real horror stories about adding things. Mostly it seems to be either get the upgraded top of the line and leave it alone or get the base stereo and upgrade the speakers and add amps. Apparently the top of the line stuff tends to be odd in adding better amps an subs (decent money for marginal improvement).

the JBL system in my avalon is nice but the infotainment portion is hot garbage. Toyota need to get its head out of its own butt and make android auto/car play standard. the system in my 2015 feels like a system from 2004.

Hubby is a guitar/music snob and said the bang and olufsen is a legit setup, so I expect greatness

Might be why Mercedes uses them as their upgrade stereo system ....

the dish on my speakers are actual cardboard. They are about as cheap as it gets. They have probably improved since mine, 2015. But I figure it can’t get any worse.

I don't like messing around with electronics from the aftermarket...I have to make the plunge with the B/O. I'm hoping its available stand-alone but not counting on it.

I think I am going all aftermarket. The B/O system in the gt350 is unimpressive

Your smart phone is an amp.

I picked up my truck last night... Messing with the standard stereo today and... It's not as terrible as some people have said. Can it be improved? Of course. Would a sub help? Tremendously...
But for the most part, absolutely adequate. Not the worse thing I've ever heard 🤷🏻

So I have the base stereo and it’s not “terrible” as everyone says but I do admit it is pretty bad. I will Be upgrading sometime in the future

During the test drive I did i put music in and it sound fine to me, it's a car stereo you can only get so good. I did a test of different music at different speeds and conditions, top down etc. The biggest take away was how quieter the vehicle is at 80 mph with the top down so much better than i was expecting. I didn't have to shout at my fiancée while doing that test.
