They say it's not a sport until there's a magazine about it.
Congratulations on kitting kids to a book store rather than the game store I reinforce my faith in the new generation.

Cool, surprised there are any magazines anymore.
Notice the display until 11/21/23.
I got into the last issue of Bronco Driver Magazine from last year’s Bronco Super Celebration. 😍

I really enjoyed 4 Wheeler magazine back in the 80’s. I had a 77 Scout and dreamed of building a rig worthy of a write up. My pockets just weren’t deep enough.

It must have been around 94 when I was wheeling in my '71 with my brother-in-law in his '81 CJ. I say 94 because I had my then 4 y/o daughter with me. We were outside of El Paso running though sand dunes at a place called Red Sands. It was during the week and an editor and photographer were out taking pics. It was a new magazine coming out called Dirt Wheeling or Dirt Sport or something like that. They interviewed us and took all kinds of pics and had us stage them and run them throwing sand everywhere. I would love to have those pics. I never did come across the magazine. The best pic of the day was my brother-in-law being winched out at the bottom of a deep sand ravine that I had just came through. My 4 y/o snapped a pic with her cheapo camera. My bil was flipping us off as I was winching him out. His CJ snapped a rear axle (weird huh?).

I did have a Bronco in the "A history of Ford's Legendary Ford Bronco" hardcover.

I would love to have that 71 back, light green, white top, homemade bumpers and roll bar, uncut, 302 with a hurst kit on the floor, dana 44 and a 9" rear, with a Ramsey rep 8k, rancho 2 1/2" lift that always sagged a touch to the passenger front when it sat for more than a day. It just didn't work for a young broke guy with a wife and 2 kids... The guy that bought swore he would never sell it. I believed him...one happy camper.

I actually submitted an article with pics to Bronco Driver back in the day. They published it!

I've got a copy still in the "mailing wrap clear bag thing" stashed in a box somewhere.

Took the grandkids to the mall in Lubbock yesterday. They wanted to go into Barnes & Noble. Went over to the magazines and found this.

You can also get this magazine thru Zinio which is a digital "store". I've had that issue for a long time. Disappointed it is only a Tread special and not a thing. Since it says Winter, maybe it will become a quarterly?

I found a coupon code for 20% off their site, so I ordered the Bronco issue, as well as a years subscription.
Figure it'll make good reading material in the office.

Total for a year (with code) is $33.56, or $2.75 per issue.

If anyone wants it, the code I used was NY2024.
Their tag "Guide to automotive adventure and outdoor lifestyle", sounded interesting enough to me.

I figure I might as well vote with my wallet if I want printed media to stick around.
Besides, it's fun to flip through a magazine once in a while.

Got a copy of Popular Mechanics on my side table here. Love it! All the stuff that's cool to know, that you didn't need to know you needed to know! Bored? Got a few minutes before you need to head out? Grab an issue of PM!

I did a bit of digging to see if I could get a print copy of this issue. Turns out you can, and it is only $10.99 US. Unfortunately, for us Canadians, that amount ballooned into $48.53 with postage!
However, if you want an issue for yourself, just load the link below into your browser and away you go...
