Small update, I’ve been busy with other aspects of life.. Anyways, this is the final pieces of the cab-to-bed structure before I seal the side with sheet metal and start on the aluminum bed. The bed bolts into the structures you see here. Frame work should be soon, very soon.

Been working on the body design so that I can get parts printing to make molds. I have several months of printing to complete so that I can make the custom body. The idea is to get parts designed and printed while I am working on the other pieces. Printing a single front fender will take about 6 days…. The rear more like 10 days. Hood probably another 15 days because it’s multiple pieces. You get the point, lots of time needed to print the parts. After I print them I have to finish them and pull a mold off them so that I can make the end use part.

The rear door I will have to make a new skin for it because I do not use the arched opening for the tire.

So just bringing you along for the process.

This is the door as I am scanning it for reverse engineering.

From here I will take the mesh model and import it into a program that will allow me to make surfaces and export it to another program that I will use to model the final design. Rinse and repeat for most of the custom parts. I scanned both the front fender and rear door today while I was working on the project.

Sorry I failed to update, y’all already know I stay busy 😂😬

Here’s the process on the bed. Cut stuff, weld it, grind it down.

are you worried about the bed floor not being stamped for rigidity? Seems ripe for denting/bending once you actually start using it.

Honestly no, I’m 275# standing in the middle of it and it’s insanely strong. I am going to be doing Eva foam in it for a few reason. I’m not putting anything crazy back there, bikes, cooler, etc.

this is what i’m lining the bed with.

Funny - literally just got done Ordering a roll of EVA before closing the Amazon window and coming here to check Messages. It’s for a spare tire platform I’m building. But I think I’m gonna dimple die my project to get a little more rigidity out of the sheet metal.

Love what you got going so far

That’s funny. Honestly it’s so thick at 3/16, I’m already in the overkill zone. Yet the bed still come in around 100lb so it fit what I needed and didn’t add a bunch of weight.

Did this project get put on back burner already, was hopeful to see an actual "build" on here.

I did pull from SEMA this year. Build is still going, I had to pull back just a bit because of outside reasons. I work in healthcare and we all know there are a lot of changes at the moment. This is not going to turn into a political discussion, and I must put family first. I didn’t lose my job, and I have a lot of work that is taking my focus. Build is still happening, I’ll post an update soon, have been waiting on a few supplies to come in.
