Iām with you on how bad this was all handled. This would be my 5th personal vehicle and the joy and anticipation is gone. All these āemployee pricing JEEPāadds are looking like a Possible option out of this mess FORD created. My badlands build is not as exciting anymore. Thatās why we buy these vehiclesI have to say that for the first time since the July release, the rock stars have pushed me to the point of considering not converting my two reservations into orders. They have taken most of the enjoyment out of what for me is a completely discretionary toy purchase.
My plan was buying a $$$ loaded Badlands, and possibly a basesquatch as a second Bronco (I am fortunate to be in a position that cost is not a problem). But even with the great deals Stephens and Granger are offering, this latest perturbation has pushed a very understanding and accommodating person to the brink.
It's not bad enough to find that Ford has substantially "changed the deal" in mid-purchase (I know there was nothing firm from a contractual standpoint, but the B&P definitely set this customer's expectations), but their handling of it has been a MBA case study on how *not* to handle bad news. At a minimum, the B&P changes should have been preceded by at least an official Ford e-mail to reservation holders, even if it only said "we screwed up, sorry, B&P had errors and prices will be higher -- please don't leave the reservation line."
This will be a total loss for Ford, as I don't need another vehicle. Even if I needed to purchase another vehicle (which I don't -- I already have 3 newer vehicles), the bad taste currently in my mouth would ensure I would not be looking at a different Ford model. This from a person who has purchased nothing but Fords for >35 years (except two Corvettes, because Ford didn't have an equivalent).
This is not a COVID-driven problem, this is problem caused by inexperienced and inept people who are screwing-up the conversion of desire/demand for an outstanding product handed to them from design and engineering into dollars.
As of today, the only thing that I can think of that would keep me in line is an announcement from Ford of a Bronco management shake-up to get experienced, customer communication-focused managers in place, along with an accompanying customer outreach to explain how things will change going forward.
Poor communication has nothing to do with COVID-19. If B&P was incorrect in not showing the price increase for the AT, then Ford should have corrected it right away and not waited for 2 months. I understand there are glitches and updates, however a $1,600 price change is huge and something that should have been corrected immediately.I'm waiting until "order day" to make any evaluation of the process. Order day is when the money comes out and Ford, along with the dealership, convinces me to buy a Bronco.
Worrying about all the crap inbetween now and January is just a waste of energy. If at the time of order Ford doesn't have its shit straight, then that's my go/no-go decision point. As long as my down payment is fully refundable, if the Bronco I ordered is not what is delivered, then I take my money and go home. My happiness is not tied to the Bronco I will buy.
If you don't understand that COIVID-19 hasn't screwed all of this up for Ford, then you are not being realistic. Ford made a huge investment in this vehicle, and dropped basically its entire car line to accomodate a new Bronco product line. Considering it being dropped in the midst of creating the Mustamg Mach E too, corporately this is big shit. COVID is wreaking havoc on the financials for Ford. And we are here bitching about some issues with a B&P website.
I'm keeping perspective.
The Glad is now about 12k less with promo pricing. I just don't know the cost of a new front suspension that works.Gonna wait until February before I really start to pick and for real build my bronco. Gonna compare that to a gladiator build Iāve got saved up as well.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!I cannot wait to see the bitching when ford realizes they still need to add in the cost of the āincludedā Off-Rodeo.
True. Maybe Ford should have someone actually double check the site before they release it. Just a thought.Them Rockstars are just hitting it out of the park.
If I pulled this kind of BS on a live web page for a client I would not have that client for long, nor my job.
You're using your old build link, do a new build exactly the same.I just did and it's the same. I don't understand it ?
All ready have āa registration and processing feeāI cannot wait to see the bitching when ford realizes they still need to add in the cost of the āincludedā Off-Rodeo.
Was unable to verify this. Did the same build that I had saved and the price changed $0.00. (Rounding up)Our broncos just went up on price!
I am in the same position. Retired, have the cash....I want the Bronco as a pleasure vehicle....I don't need it. It's all I can do to hold on and not go to an adjacent City and buy a Defender off the lot (for $20K more. $ is not the issue). FORD is screwing this all up. While some say "calm down".....everyone should admit, Ford has botched this up (despite Covid issues). If they could not have accurately priced out the Bronco and had B&P up and fully operational, they should never have launched B&P until they were ready. Communication is very lacking here. Thanks for your rant, it's spot on.I have to say that for the first time since the July release, the rock stars have pushed me to the point of considering not converting my two reservations into orders.
