Hello Oregon Broncos,

I'm going to be exploring the Frederick Butte area south of Brothers Oregon on 12-14. Mild trail driving and exploring. BLM land camping as well. Would anyone like to meet up?

I know that area well. I usually go on further towards Glass Butte to hunt coyotes. No end to the roads to explore in that part of Oregon. I like to find Obsidian chips out in the desert that indicate an ancient Indian camp. Glass Butte is full of obsidian free for the picking. I learned to make spear points there.

Funny you mention it, Glass Butte was my plan B for the second day. Was I on to anything around Frederick Butte? The trip got cut short, but I feel like there's maybe an old homestead or something there to explore.

The terrain BETWEEN Frederick and Glass is much more interesting. Glass Butte has the obsidian but the area South of Hampton has the best terrain. Cool rock formations and roads from mild to challenging. Great camping. Love to show it to you if I ever get my new bronco.

Thank you for the tips. I'll be checking that out soon on my next trip!
