I have an OB ordered and it is not showing bash plates as an available option. Does anyone know if they can be ordered and are installable on any model? ( forgive my ignorance if this has been answered in the past)

No, they cannot. One requirement is the “modular bumper”.

if you upgrade the bumper you should be able to add bash plates to your order.

I did in fact order the modular bumper… thanks!

I would add the bash plates to the order as well instead of adding them after delivery. I hear they are labor intensive to add later.

When I go to BP and choose “modular bumper” it automatically adds the bash plates to the order. So if you ordered the modular bumper you should be getting bash plates on your OB.

You slide under the truck and just bolt them on, right?

I’ll be adding aftermarket protection to the underbody eventually because I wanted to keep my fog light switch. There will be plenty of aftermarket skid plates down the road.

So for SOME trims, once you add the Mod Bumper, it allows you to add the Heavy Duty Bash Plates( under body protection).

But 2 things to note:

1) the Mod bumper ONLY gets you a steel FRONT skid plate vs the Plastic One.

2) I believe OBX is one of those trends that cannot add the underbody protection. The option is just not there.

To illustrate what I'm talking about, build a WT. You will see it comes with a standard front bumper with a plastic front skid. And that same area there is the ability to add the underbody bash plates, what you'll prompt you to add the MOD bumper.

Now the ordering system may be able to add them even if the B&P doesn't, But I would definitely not assume you get them just because you added the MOD bumper.

BL and BD aside, the Modular bumper only adds the front bash plate. On the 2 door you already get the plate under the gas tank. So as for a 2 door modular, it looks like just the transmission and transfer case plates are missing. On my 2 door the front bash plate extends to the back of the engine up to the start of the transmission.

It is my understanding that to install the fuel tank plate the fuel tank straps have to be changed out.

The Ford Accessories only show 2 door bash plates. It states its for a vehicle with the modular bumper. This doesn't make sense as the modular bumper comes with all the plates shown except the transfer case plate

Granted this is for different cars but I’ve added bash and skid plates to plenty of different Jeeps and even some pickups and it is easy as pie.

I've been wondering about this myself. The modular bumper comes with the front bash plate. Not sure if it comes with the engine plate but don't think it does. According to this it appears you will be getting a front bash plate that you don't need. https://accessories.ford.com/kit-skid-plate-mb3z-5d032-d.html#2021/Bronco
