I think most companies offer the nav upgrade" anytime over the air even after initial purchase.

I believe that's part of the reason for the "free Nav for 90 days" on most packages?

Also SYNC4 so I will just use google maps or wayze?

There are two different navs: “Connected” and “Connected Built In”

With “connected” on the Mid and High package, you get a 90 day trial, and when it runs out, if you don’t pay for the subscription you don’t have it anymore. (You could conceivably restart the subscription in the future.)

With “connected built in” on Lux you have it free for three years, and after that, you keep navigation, but if you don’t pay a subscription, you loose traffic and road updates… so it basically turns into a dumb system stuck in time.

Base doesn’t get either.

As already noted, all trims do have Apple Car Play and Android Auto… so you can use the nav app of choice through that if you have a smart phone.
