These lights seem terrible. They only light about 5ft in front of me. Is this normal? Is it possible theyre not aligned properly? Can they be aligned at all? I'm planning to upgrade to the modular bumper and get aftermarket lights from there but I'm not sure when that will be. I dont really wanna spent money on lights I can't use later. But this past few days a heavy snowstorm illustrated how poor they are.

Thoughts?

I have never turned mine on, but that sounds about par for the course with factory fog lights. Remember, the light is aimed low so it won't reflect back into your eyes and blind you.

I have Diode Dynamics triple fog light kit with KR triple bracket. (They are awesome by the way.) I don't have factory fogs so not sure if there is an adjustment. Typically if there is an adjustment screws they would be directly behind the light mount bracket. Though I've never seen an adjustment for factory fogs on any other cars I've owned. SAE fogs are designed to wide angle with a sharp cut off on top in order to not blind oncoming traffic. They are supposed be aimed low to shine under fog.

I looked this up online. This what I used to aim my fogs after install. (Yes you can adjust after market fogs.)

Properly Aiming Fog and Driving Lights

Measure the distance between the center of the fog light and the ground. You should also mark the corresponding height on the wall. Adjust the lights so the top of the fog beam pattern is about 4 inches down from the lamp center at 25 feet, with the lamp facing straight forward.

I'll take a look guys thank you. I do wanna get the DD triple light kit but I need the modular for that. I know they're supposed to be low and not blind oncoming traffic but 5 feet is a little crazy. I'll climb under and see it I can bring them up a bit. I'd rather avoid spending money until I have the modular bumper installed.

There are nice kits available for the Capable as well - same lights as you’d get for Modular, just different brackets

Super easily adjusted on the rear of the lights. My fogs were super low and basically unusable so 2nd day I had it I adjusted them up and they have been great for the last 3 years.

Im looking up videos of people swapping them out. Looks like there are 4 screws holding them in. Do you just tighten the two bottom ones? Did you need to take the bumper off? Looks tough to get to.

No, no need to touch the mounting screws. There is a little gear adjuster, I'm trying my memory from November 2021 but I'll try to snap a picture tomorrow. I was just able to rotate it with my fingers to get the aim I wanted.

Well the factory fogs are not that great. That's why a lot of folks upgrade them. They can be aligned up and down. There is a screw you just turn to raise/lower the fogs. BUT as I said, factory fogs don't do a whole lot.

We've got some kits that are not a lot of money for the capable bumpers. If you use coupon code BRONCO6G you can save 10% on some of the kits as well:

Was debating buying the pair of s3 kit and then adding the 3rd light and bracket when I get the modular. How hard is it to install? Do you need to take the bumper off?

Get yellow. Much better in poor visibility, which is why you turned on your fogs!! @Diode Dynamics does indeed sell all the same versions in SINGLE lamp for the 'inCapable' bumper. Fantastic. Four bolts each side to pull the bumper, easy plug and play after that. Even an accountant can do it.

Note that alignment is a drag, you can't get to the adjustment screws once bumper is back on. Not much you can do about it.
