Nasty screw picked up, more like bolt. Lucky I was close to home. No rim damage , lost air quick.

Then the fun began. Unpack jack, set up in my driveway. Not impressed with the jack, so def getting a new one. With that said , being super cautious I had it changed in under an hour.

Let's see if the plug it

I hate the jacks supplied in cars. I don't carry a better one though. I picked up an aluminum 2.5 ton jack, got tired of the 110 pound steel one. I'm thinking about getting a bottle jack with the cradle to keep in the bronco.

Perhaps the camera's perspective is adding more slope than there is IRL. But next time, use some of that spare lumber to chock your wheels. The OEM jack is fine - not the best and certainly not the most stable base. For the rear wheels, use the rear axle not the rear trailing arms as a lift point.

If I'm in my driveway, I'm grabbing the floor jack and stands. I can get them out quicker than I can the jack in the vehicle.

But if you're on the side of the road with nothing else, the included jack for most vehicles is adequate. It's not the best, but it does the job in a pinch.

I do prefer using a minimum 6-ton bottle jack though.

I've used trunk jack twice and I actually thought it was ok.
Sure there are better options - if you're prepared.
But I've also used MUCH worse. You all ever used a VW/Audi jack?
They don't call those the widow-maker for nothing! I had one fold up on my roadside once...

By the way has anyone tried 3M PR40 (or the other viscosity variants) to repair tires? Seems to do a bang up job fusing rubber together. I used it on my Bronco spare tire. And yesterday to fuse closed a small hole in the tread of my van tire.

I think I'll start carrying a bottle along with some rubber patches, because it can even be used to temporarily fix a sidewall tear to at least get off the trail.

I’ll take the Bronco jack over this sketchy design of a 1970’s Volvo jack I had once upon a time.

There’s always a sketchier jack!
