I have an unfulfilled (OB) order in from last November '21 and I want to change it to an Everglades. The dealer told me they cannot change it in their system. They have called Ford to get clarification but no news yet. Anyone has any insights if this is limited availability or another golden ticket type request? Thanks for your insights.

I am speculating the dealers response is most likely only ā€œ halfā€ correct. They canā€™t change your order due to Ford not taking orders. It may simply be the dealers canā€™t access the order process from Ford because it isnā€™t currently active. Again, just a guess on my part.

Was there not a November deadline for converting 22 orders to 23 and did that not in include making any changes.

My understanding was you could make changes as long as you are willing to loose price protection based upon a major change.

Not true, You were allowed to make any changes you wanted at the model year changeover and not affect PP.

Sounds like dealer BS. Order banks are closed but that has nothing to do with current orders already placed.

By any chance has your order been previewed or even scheduled?

@Jonny way @BigHoof is correct. Existing orders can be changed. Changes won't affect PP. The PP cert is based on the locked MY'22 build. It can be applied to the MY'23 Everglades Edition.

I'm guessing , at best, you can change your order as soon as order banks open up again in February. As long as you don't have a VIN by then.

Since the order banks were closed, only order holders could only change an order during the conversion period. Now that's closed too and the order banks are closed too, so no changes at this time. Ford is trying to schedule out of this mess and can't if orders keep changing. If you're not scheduled when the banks reopen then your dealer can make changes.

Changes then won't effect your certificate which is connected to your order date. Once a VIN is issued no changes, I couldn't add a roof rack at B&P price, it was at full retail price and I didn't want it that bad.

It's amazing how uniformed some dealers can be. I had a '22 BL on order with Long McArthur Ford that never got build, when it came time to convert the order to a '23 I changed it to a WT, no problem. My private offer from Ford (price protection) will be based on the BL order.

I had a hard top order from 2020 and was able to change to 2023 Everglades in September 2022

Not sure if this example has any relevance to this issue but 2 weeks ago I asked my dealer to make a change, add HD bumper to my Aug. 2020 unscheduled order. He emailed me back and stated that the order had been changed to priority level 2 by Ford and that no changes could be made. Have seen several post on this forum since saying that they had been changed to level 2 as well. Really don't think level 2 is a big deal at this point, maybe Ford is just trying to clean up some of the backlog by doing this. Just a guess though.
