I always bought a fake tree storage bag the size of the tree I’m bringing home from the farm. Toss it in the bag, tie it through the vehicle, and get up and go.I’ll even toss the damn bag inside out into our washing machine and it’s brand new for next year!

First year or so I’d pay to deliver or pay in pizza for a buddy’s truck. After that i’d have it netted then wrap it in a drop cloth. What’s tough is the weird rear windshield. I dont think you can really open it up and rest the tree on top the tailgate. More likely just put the top down and go slow home with the tree on top sticking out the back.

Or take the top off and stand it straight up! Plenty of things to tie it to up top.

I used to transport 12' & 14' paddleboards on my 2dr jeep. But then again, that's when I lived in FL. If you lived in CO, it's definitely doable to run top down during nov & dec on a sunny day. But I see you live in CT so that may be out?
