We buy trees too tall to be transported sideways. I certainly won't put it on top of the softtop.

The fishing guy on here also was concerned about rear window assembly up on the flimsy support and not strong enough to hold it open.

I have only tried lifting the soft hatch a little and I guess you have to remove side panels just to do that? It offers quite a bit of resistance.

And I don't think we should drive on highway with tailgate open although that would be last resort other than a trailer or a different vehicle. Depending on the weather I am leaning toward top down and tree strapped to sport bars

On the other hand where the heck ate the sport bars? All I see are 3/4" crossbars that are part of the roof. Thought we were getting a full roll cage

Honestly, I'd just borrow or rent a small flatbed trailer if you got a BIG tree.
