Crested Butte is one of my favorite places—can’t wait to get back there with my Bronco!

Woah, didn't know that. Apparently, they're not street-legal in the US? But they look cool!
(Sorry, OP, I swear I am not trying to hijack your thread. I love Crested Butte and have spent a lot of time there the past few years - including some of those places in your pics. It's why I clicked on this thread!).

But look at the Jimny!

(OK, no more distractions)
You can import them and drive them in the US. There is a guy down the street from me that owns a small classic car and odd car dealership. He picks up one or two from Mexico on occasion and puts them on his lot. I’d get one but he charges a premium for them. My kids call it a “shrinky dink“ bronco. It is an awesome size. Looks as close to a bronco as you can get in my opinion.

To the OP. Great pictures. I need to get mine up there during the summer/fall season. It’s been up there for winter quite a bit. And handled like a beast in white out conditions. Love that area!

I love skiing there, I've only been in the winter though. Looks great.

Are those the factory 33" tires?

Yep, everything is stock. Only additions are running board attachments and bunch of interior accessories for storage

I planned out a trip to that area of Colorado a couple of weeks back and we loved it. I wanted to do the Alpine Loop, but it was pouring rain in that area, so we ended up exploring the Pagosa Springs area.

Great pics man.

Most of these roads don’t seem to need a bronco or an off-roader. I was surprised, amazed and impressed to see a Ford Taurus and a Tesla on the schofield pass to emerald lake with 6 inch ruts and dips. I was in the same boat 7 years ago but I had a rear locker, 4wd and a tiny little more clearance. I drove half a mile up cinnamon pass from animas forks and went back after scraping the bottom a few times. I told myself I’ll come back with a better vehicle and here I am 7 years later

It's all fun and games until you're paying a few thousand for Triple Cross to tow your little car down out of the hills.

In reality, any vehicle that has reasonable ground clearance can get to 90% of the places. The "want" for a fully outfitted 4WD is totally fashion driven for the vast majority of buyers.
Any vehicle is capable of going somewhere... once. A proper vehicle will get there without drama or damage.

Besides, we want to explore the 10% areas.

A lot less snow than when I was up there in June.

The is a philosophy worth quoting, with full credit to @swooshdave of course.
