So today I was headed to the store and being blown all over the road by wind gusts between 40 & 60 mph. All of a sudden I get a warning light (no photos I was driving) that said, "Driver Alert, press OK to dismiss" and it had an icon of a cup of coffee with steam rising up from it.

I didn't know we had an alert system for what I assume it thought was "drowsy driving" thanks to me having to correct for wind gusts.

Who knew?

The explanation is here.

To me, this is one of the good uses of the nanny tech in modern vehicles. I want my truck to be looking out for weird driving patterns from me.

Sounds like you were weaving to much and it thought you were falling a sleep.

Sometimes I get an alert to keep my hands on the steering wheel.

I loved the little Genie lamp looking icon in the older cars when you're out of oil...No big flashing red alert light to let you know the most expensive thing in the car was about to totally burn up, and seize, but a cute little non flashing Genie Lamp Icon......only a car industry basing its earnings on parts would come up with that one

There’s actually a Starbucks at the end of my driveway
Lucky. I have to drive at minimum 20 minutes to get to one. Imagine what I would save in gas if that wasn't the case...

My Ranger would do that as well. While driving a long distance or time, it would alert you to take a break.
