Color of Some Exterior Trim Not Matching

Hello, I picked up my Bronco on Saturday. At pickup during walk around I noticed there is a piece under the taillight that is not exactly the same color as the rest of the body. Its flatter. To be fair, as you move around the car it becomes less obvious but its clearly not the same color. Has anyone else with CO or other colors noticed this. Dealer noted it on inspection form but wasn’t sure anything could be done. Love everything about Bronco, blast to drive.

Same thing you get with cars and plastic bumpers...
Those pieces are not painted on the vehicle. Shit, they might not even be painted in the same plant!

This. That one small section is plastic while the neighboring panels are metal. Not saying this is acceptable but that's why we might see differences in reflection levels such as we are here.

Plastic parts are typically painted at separate facilities and it's difficult to get a perfect match as you will notice on a lot of cars in certain lightings that the plastic parts aren't perfectly matched with the adjacent metal panels. That said this is much worse than what you would normally expect. Looks like a different shade of yellow.

Push for a repaint.

My 2004 GTO rear bumper didn't match and a spot on the roof I noticed after a few weeks. It took three visits to the dealer and I got a little mad the second time. Third time they had a regional guy there to look at it closely and they finally agreed to repaint the bumper too.

Their excuse was that it's plastic and the other surfaces were metal. I pointed out my front bumper was fine. That's what kinda convinced them.

I did the finger nail flick test on the whole body and its definetly plastic, its the only party that doesn’t have a distinct metal click sound. I parked it with the sun directly behind truck and took pictures of each side, two of driver side and two of passenger side. Doesn’t seem like a problem on buddy’s carbonized gray. CO is definitely a shape shifter color thats different from all angles and kind of a bummer to have something stand out. Will press for solution and post any results but doesn’t feel like there is much to do. Dealer did offer to sell me some trail armor to cover.

Tri-coat hard to match all around. Especially with different material possibly painted at different time. Have tri-color platinum on SD and there are noticeable differences in areas.
