I hope all Crossroads dealerships are not like this but I have an issue with Lumberton, NC.
I bought a 2022 Bronco in October 2022. When they called, I went up to look at it and did not notice a rock chip in the bottom corner of the windshield. After signing the papers, I was told I would have to leave my truck there to get a windshield put in. Took a week to get it. Well today, 8 months later, I took it in to just get the oil changed at 3200 miles and , well, i figured I wasn't going to get a freebie but all they offered me was the Works deal at $89. All I wanted was an oil change. I didn't want all the brakes checked at 3200 miles but I would still have to pay for "The Works". What? I questioned this and the service manager went to talk to someone and the message I got back was " You are from South Carolina so you will have to get a South Carolina dealer to give you a free oil change." What? I bought this 56K vehicle from Crossroads Ford in Lumberton and they don't seem like they care? Any dealer in SC would think me an idiot to go to their dealership to get a FREE oil change when they didn't make a dime off the vehicle! Oh well, I called Ford Customer Service, went and bought the oil filter and oil for 49.00, changed it myself. Also, I took the Crossroads sticker of the tailgate as I will not advertise for this auto group! Their sales girl was great but as a whole, the dealership left a nasty taste in my mouth... rant over.....

Let me get this right.

Your upset because the dealers service center didn’t give you a free oil change for your windshield troubles during delivery?

Why do you think they owed you a free oil change anyway?

I took my Mustang to the Crossroads in Wake Forest years ago because there was a horrible rattling/dragging noise that seemed directly tied to my use of the clutch peddle in terms of it's noise or if you made a sweeping turn. I figured it was probably something in the clutch. This is when I discovered the notorious Ford modular motor valve train issue that F-150 owners especially too familiar with.

Their service guy wanted almost $7k to fix it, said they had to pull the motor out and everything, needed a full week minimum. Straight up accused me of never changing the oil in it and generally left a bad taste in my mouth with his attitude. I bought the parts online (ironically, from their own parts department via eBay) at about 40% of the cost they quoted me for parts and had a place I've had to other work for me install then for about $1k. No engine pull required, no issues 5 years later. Total cost ended up being less than $2k using genuine Motorcraft parts.

I had originally placed my reservation with them and that wasn't a favorable experience either, so I transferred it to Stephens. As of a month ago they were still putting $6k ADMs on their on the lot Broncos too, but thats down from the $10k they were putting on previously.

Needless to say I don't plan on taking my Bronco there for service.

I never said they OWED me anything! I have been buying cars for a long time and the dealers always did this. I was sure they didn't anymore though my last new vehicle, they changed it for the first 3 oil changes. I don't expect that anymore because we do not live in a SERVICE oriented world. If you look through these forums, you will see many disgruntled customers with all kinds of issues. I'm just expressing my opinion and my 62 years on this globe give me that right.

MY primary issue was just the absurdity of them telling me that since I lived in SC, I should go to a dealer here and get a free oil change?????? after buying the vehicle from them.

The other issue was why couldn't they offer me just a plain old oil change instead of pushing "the works" for 89+tax?
Sorry to rile you up with my issue.

Interesting. Well Ford gives you enough FordPass points to get about 3 oil changes if you bought new. I've taken my Ford products to Crossroads Ford in Apex's Quick Lane change and have been able to just get an oil change. They try to steer you to "The Works" but do just offer an oil change.

I get where you are coming from though, it is a rude thing to tell a customer even if they don't offer free oil changes.

Is your Bronco a full synthetic oil change? If so, in my opinion, $89.95 oil change is well in line with current prices and actually, a little inexpensive when it comes to dealer service pricing.
