Since I wanted to set 3 way front stage I started on dash mid/tweeter modification of the plates.
this project requires basic skills of cutting plastic and few handy tools like Power drill , band saw would be handy but not needed.
What I did I left original midrange speaker plate and build 2 footprints with 3” and 1, 3/4” cut outs for mid and tweeter.
I used thin Keydex plastic to create plates.
Love kaydex since is cheap and very moldable and super strong!
As you see in the photos I cut front plate bit shorter to the angle edge of the original plate.
Than i created second plate with ( cut outs ) where 5 clips are
All got sandwiched together with original plate in between and now I can drop my speakers in the holes and tighten with bolts.
Still waiting for 3” mesh covers
I used 3 M double to glue both sides together. I could use screes but driver will hold all together with 4 screws plus thr 3M tape.
Happy how this is turning out so far !
these Rainbow Germanium mids are made in Germany and were 500$ hi end midrange and 1.1 Voce Audison are very nice tweeters it should be great pair up front
The kick panels will get Mille Hertz 6,5” legends , another great Italian speaker car maker
