Thankfully minimal damage but a deer decided to head butt my door this morning and in doing so removed the outer shell of my flare. 52 years on this earth and one finally jumps out and gets me.

Huh, never knew that the OB flares were two-piece.

That damage could have been a lot worse.

Yeah, those deer... I am constantly looking out for this very thing. My brother had a coworker who was driving to work (Houston) and one ran straight into his door at 70mph. They did get deer sausage out of it. 🌭

I never knew either. I'm finding more damage each time I return to my truck. I've now notice a deeper crease up the edge of the door where it must have pushed in and slid off and the front outer shell is hanging half way off.

I ended up driving up and down the road several times looking for the deer and my flare, never saw either. this afternoon after work i am going to park near the scene and walk it to see if i can at least find my flare.

In my entire life I have had two deer hits. One was on my old awesome JK and it just bent the driver bumper corner and sprayed guts and gore and poop all under the car. But no real damage, even after multiple high powered washes it still stunk for a long while. And my Expy was killed by a deer hit. At a lower speed. That absolutely pisses me off. Glad yours was minimal!

I had a deer hit my Escort on the drivers side. Went down the whole drivers side including taking off the drivers side mirror. Never did find the mirror or the deer. Must have taken the mirror home to his doe!

Crazy stories on hitting deer. I am very thankful it wasn’t a front-on hit and only skimmed off the side. Friday after work I did find the flare in a ditch but it was broken in half so I’m going to replace the painted flares for some MIC ones. I was thinking of doing it anyways because my first off road adventure chipped the paint on the rear fenders from flinging rocks.
