...The airbag probably didn’t go off because the crumple zones look mostly intact. Which is saying something.
... Not sure how the airbag didn't deploy.
Many vehicles have the airbag sensors tied to the bumper, and a deer with some feet off the ground will barely touch the bumper. It can crumple the hell out of the hood or fenders, collapse the radiator etc. and not set the bag off.

Even a fancier sensor based off sudden G-force changes will barely register hitting a deer or person. 200lb vs 5000lb isn't going to transfer much of a change in velocity.

Sorry to see that damage to your Bronco and glad you are ok!

I am looking at ways to help protect my Bronco (when it comes), but with all the electronics, cooling, cameras, and such in the front, it is difficult. I guess I am going to get it with the plastic bumper to keep the fog lights then upgrade from there. I'm worried if I order with the Mod bumper I won't have the fog lights or fog light switch.

I was looking at the Rough Country nudge bar but I don't know if that would of helped you. That deer must have jumped at the last second, the damage is higher than I would have thought.

The best option for what I want is the JCR Vanguard bumper with the bull bar. Then maybe add a winch when the bumper is paid off. I wish I could see one in person first.

So I hit a deer doing 70 mph this morning. Not a great way to start the day! Gotta wait till Monday for the auto body shop to open.

I feel bad for the deer but worse for the driver, that's 2 years plus waiting to either get parts or get it replaced with a new one.

Owner already had to wait X, now it's another waiting game. :(

Not to bad... Get a Grip Mechanic on YouTube can fix it right up for you.

I was hoping it wouldn't be that bad when I opened it .

Wow good thing you were driving a bronco and not a jeep. If it was a jeep you would have never reached 70 mph because of that death rumble it does after 40 mph. Also if it was jeep it would have rolled like 10 times for no reason 🤣 glad you're okay OP. Too bad for the deer

Hey I'm in WA too (Duvall Area).

It happens. Wishing you the best with the rebuild and the insurance.

One hit me years ago..... (Yeah deer hit you as you don't really hit them and there is really nothing you can do). I still remember that night it jumped from a hill bank right into me..... I like to think it lived as it was still moving around and strugglingly limped off making noises I never want to hear again in my life.

Cars can be fixed/replaced..... You can't. Glad you're ok.

Same. A friend of mine recently hit a deer at similar speeds (slightly slower, around 55-60 mph) in a 2017 Focus and her car is still driveable (but did need a new radiator, I think because some of the broken plastic parts got jammed in the radiator fan and punctured the rad from the rear)

Lots of cosmetic damage, but she's still driving it, lol.

2 of my cars, one driven by my wife, suffered the same fate. And I hit one on a motorcycle. How the deer got on a bike I will never know. LOL!!
Sorry, but I was the one on the bike. Humor helps on that one. Mad part was no dead deer after the bike crash.

Glad you are OK. Definitely a high hit. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing.

I was in my cousin's 4runner last fall during hunting season and we hit a deer. It clobbered the bumper and right headlight, but because the bumper was steel the car was still drivable and we were able to get back home, another 20 miles or so.

But scary as heck when that deer darted out at us (it was nighttime) and we hit it.

Hope your girl is back on the road soon.
