just received
Look about right?

Also the 4x4 truck leds harness looks like it’s designed for 3 lights on each side
Assuming just leave one disconnected?

thx

Yeah, you can leave one disconnected. Maybe pack the connectors on that empty one with some dielectric grease and wrap it up in a baggie taped off or zip-tied off and tucked out of the way so that it's there and in good condition if you ever want to use it for a third pair of lights.

Look about right?
Post a pic taken a bit further back.
Going by the provided pic, my gut says to move the lights inboard so they are biased to the larger part of the opening. (you have disturbed my delicate internal balance - lol )

The pics at 4x4truckleds sits better with me.

thanks! ugh...running the wire for the drivers side is a major pita.

now only prob is nothing happens when I flip the Upfitter switches!!!!
I installed them in my 25 base a few weeks ago using the new harness, fuse box and of course switches. The blue light comes on for all switches but when I flip them nothing happens!!! I thought that was maybe because I had nothing connected. But adding the fog lights to 3 aux wires (3,4,5 for BL) didn't do anything.

ugh!! any ideas?
appreciate you all!

So Aux-3 for one pair of lights, Aux-4 for the second pair of lights, and Aux-5 for backlight of all 4 lights? That all sounds OK. Then the ground wire(s) to a ground stud in the engine bay.

What did you do in the fuse box?

Unless I’m misunderstanding you shouldn’t have had to do anything in the fuse box. Should have only had to tap into the wire bundle at the back of the engine bay drivers side and then ground out to the frame somewhere.

check for voltage at the oem aux wire with switch on to make sure something isn’t wrong with the aux switches if you haven’t already, be weird for all 3 switches to not be working though unless you have a bad ground for the lights perhaps

on a side note I’ve been eyeballing that same setup in the pros

curious....for Upfitter switches not connected to anything, when you flip them do they turn orange or does the blue light just go off?

I have the base so needed to swap out the whole fuse box to supposedly enable them....

So you did the install for the oem aux switches? It didn’t come with it from the factory? Just want to clarify.

should light up blue and then when flicked on should be orange whether something is attached to it or not

yep...but apparently something isn't right. my switches light up blue...but when I flip them they go dark (don't light up orange).

When the car is not on or in accessory mode… example… like when you open the door and the switches light up blue initially if you try to flip it on the blue light goes off and NO orange light comes on. At least this is the case with nothing attached to them.

I would start by checking voltage at your aux wire in the engine bay with the switch on. Make sure you are getting power. Gonna have to work your way backwards from there and retrace your steps on the install along the way testing for voltage at all the points.

this was from chat got...maybe for 2025 software needs to be updated

Why this is happening
  • Blue light = backlighting (illumination circuit)
  • Amber/orange light = “active” status signal
On the 2025 Bronco, the amber “on” indicator will NOT work unless the vehicle is programmed to know the switches exist. Simply installing the switches and harness isn’t enough.

Yeah if I remember correctly you do have to program the module to activate them.

Forescan last I checked won’t work correctly on the 23/24 broncos… at least last time I had read up on forescan. No clue on the 25s.

My 25 Badlands came with the upfitter switches, I haven't used any yet but I haven't noticed any lights on them. I plan to install some rear lights and use one of them, do I need to have some programming done to activate them?

Nothing to program if it came from the factory, they are ready to go.
