I searched and searched but can't find an answer to this one.

Ford stated in one of their many Stay Pumped emails that price protection was guaranteed if you don't get built this year.

Does that only apply if you have an order for a 2021 and it doesn't get built in 2021 as planned, pushing you to a 2022?

What if you choose to "99" your order voluntarily to hold out for a 2022? Does price protection apply then?

Thanks in advance to anyone with confirmed information! đź‘Ť

What if you did order before 3/19/21 and didn't 99 but the MY21 run ends and you have to redo the order for a MY22. Are you saying you aren't price protected? I thought that was the whole idea.

If you ordered before March 19 2021 you are price protected. Pretty simple to understand

Right. I placed my order before that. Question is if I 99 my order now. Thanks!
So….. I’m Good?
My dealer seems to think that it was the first round but I showed him the email it says the 19th. he still not sure. It says “all” orders and reservations before 3/19

If you place the order before 3/19/21 with a priority code other than 99 and then decide to switch it to a 99 priority code after 3/19/21, I would think you should still have price protection, but I'm not entirely sure. Seems to be playing the system, but it doesn't look like they explicitly call out that use case in the fine print.

Please stop spewing this misinformation.

It applies to orders before March 20th (thus including the 19th) AND all reservations, converted or not before March 20th.

per fords email.....
Price Protection Extension thru 2023 model year - We'll continue to offer price protection to all Bronco order and reservation holders (as of March 19, 2021) to ensure you will not see an increase in MSRP if you receive an EQUIVALENT 2023 (2022) model year bronco.
My fault it is to res holders as well as orders but it is the 19th of march or earlier. talk about spewing misinformation.

That’s what I’m hoping. My dealer is asking his Ford rep. I’ll post his response when I get it.

Fords statement is very clear. Price protection applies to all order and reservation holders as of March 19th 2021 as long as you order an equivalent MY2022 model. There is nothing stated about the order codes. The equivalent model criteria prevents someone who initially placed a reservation for a Base model, then decides to go for the Badlands or Wildtrak because they can order one at the previous years prices.

"Equivalent model" just doesn't make sense to me though, besides language that sounds specific, but is also vague. You would think they'd be happy in either scenario. I start at base and go up? hey they made more $$ than they would have... I start with WT and go down? hey they lose less money on the price matching... kind of a 6 of one half a dozen of the other situation...

I think it's safe to say that equivalent means the same model. If they come out with a broader interpretation, I'm sure many reservation holders would be happy with the freedom. Either way, I plan to order what I want and not be locked into ordering the same model that I reserved to save a few hundred dollars. I plan to keep this vehicle for a long time.
