TA87445RD
Steering Tie Rod End Assembly
Application Summary:
Ford Bronco 2023-21

https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-144970-ta87445rd.aspx

Product Description
On certain 2- and 4-door Ford Bronco SUVs, the original tie rods are similar to the diameter and design as those on much lighter passenger sedans, making them susceptible to snapping under steering stresses. Breaks can also occur on Broncos that are used offroad and/or lifted to accommodate larger tires, whether in factory trim or with aftermarket lift kits. The dealer offers a similar tie rod design as a replacement, inviting the same issue again. This Dorman OE FIX kit is engineered to provide a more permanent solution. The kit features a 32.6mm outer tie rod and 23mm inner tie rod 50% and 40% larger, respectively, than the factory rods, with an 18mm thread interface 29% larger than the original equipment. The internally threaded portion of the forged outer tie rod end is longer than the factory version and the externally threaded portion of the inner tie rod ends are shorter by the same amount. This modification allows the same toe adjustment range as the factory pieces and also further reduces the strain placed on the inner tie rod end by transferring load to the stronger outer tie rod end. The tie rods can be used on stock or lifted vehicles and are optimized for vehicles with 1.5 inches of lift. Serviceable oversized ball studs complete this upgraded solution. In addition to the 2 tie rods, this kit contains 2 steering rack bellows and bellows adapters, and all the hardware for a complete installation on multiple generations of Bronco steering racks.
  • Upgraded solution - this Bronco tie rod kit is designed to help prevent tie rod breakage that can occur on certain Ford Bronco SUVs, especially those that are lifted or used offroad
  • Improved design - the larger diameter tie rods with oversized ball studs in this kit are engineered to resist breakage under steering stress and feature a 5-degree offset for oversized tires
  • Ideal retrofit - designed to be a more permanent and reliable repair than the factory design tie rod replacements or aftermarket splint kits
  • Complete kit - includes 2 upgraded tie rods, steering rack bellows and bellows adapters, and the necessary hardware for a straightforward installation on multiple generations of Bronco steering racks
