Dyeing blue seats

Anyone ever dye their blue seats black? Hunting for a Raptor (most likely used) and I have to admit, the blue seats in photos really turns me off.

I had a brief chance to see a Raptor equipped with the blue/orange interior last night in waning light and it didn't look "that" bad. It wouldn't be my first choice and I'm not a Denver Broncos fan so...

With that said, has anyone had the leather professionally dyed black or a dark slate gray? It'd dye the orange stitching which is a shame but it'd get rid of the blue. It's fairly cost-effective vs. something like Katzkin covers.

Ultimately I think there are enough used Raptors out there that I'll be able to find the one I want with the black onyx material. If one comes along at an "I can't say no" price, and has the blue interior, I'd consider knowing I could have it professionally dyed for far less than a grand.

The problem is, it isn’t just the seats. The trim and paneling is also blue. Not a problem if it’s only the seats you are worried about. The blue seats and interior is very ugly to me so I specifically avoided it.

The center portion is synthetic "suede", the rest is plasticized leather for the powered seats.

I really hope they fired the interior designer who thought that getup would be a good idea.

Yep, that's why I mentioned power seats . As far as I can tell, all the MGV seats are manual adjustment.

I really think seat covers are your only choice.

In my mind, somebody paying Braptor money for a Bronco should certainly be able to afford Katzkins.

But, if you are more like me and just can't justify that kind of moola for seat covers.....then some Mabett's or other such off of Amazon would be a more normal cost. And not look anywhere near has horrible as that blue.

Ford has a literal obsession with blue seats and has for many years. I don't get it either, but unfortunately I don't think they'll ever give it up entirely. Though the least they could do is ditch the orange

When I traded my Gen2 Raptor I walked away from a Gen3 order due to the light blue interior and went TRX.

My ‘24 Bronco Raptor’s optional interior does not look nearly as blue as the Bronco Raptor pic above, in fact I just went out to the garage to see if the seats were even blue. I thought they were black/charcoal with an undertone of orange in the center weave...

It can. All automotive leathers go through pretty much the same process and there's really not much actual leather left these days.

It appears so… but they also had an obsession with red back in the ‘80’s.
