I have recently added a couple of things wired direct to the battery that always draw a small amount of current. Plus my Bronco sits a lot and does mostly short trips. Not surprising that I started getting "system off" messages in Ford Pass. So, it was time to install a battery maintainer. The one I used was a five minute install, and didn't cost much. Thought folks might like to see what I did.

The 120 volt pigtail was just long enough to reach the front bumper. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Clean install but your link states for lead acid batteries...it should be for AGM batteries. Some units can do both lead acid and AGM...not sure if this one will do both? Did the instructions mention it?

All of my NOCO 5 and 10s Genius can do lead acid, agm and lithium. Just have to cycle the mode button. They are fantastic. Have them on tractor, mower, utv, bronco and f350. Every battery is 4yo or more. No problems on any of them. Some equipment sits months between uses

I have the same Noco 2D setup on my bronco, along with my other 2 vehicles. Inexpensive, yet extremely effective and great addition for keeping the battery charged since I don't drive it every day. Reminds me I need to route the connection down to the bumper area somewhere so I don't have to pop the hood all the time.

The Noco Genius GEN5X1 is fully waterproof. I bought the 2D a while back for our Ranger. Still sitting in the box (had a Battery Tender in the first Bronco). Bought a GEN5X1 during the holidays on sale…but, Bluetti just dropped their Charger 2 which acts as a trickle charger in reverse and keeps my power station charged via solar or starter battery.

So, now I have a 2D up for grabs of someone wants it.

the GEN5X1 is going in the Ranger.

So the Noco 2d Worked? A rep for Noco said that it was only good for 40ah batteries. I am at 55% due to me not driving the bronco much (12000 miles 23 BB purchased July 2023). Ford will not replace battery and Auto stop does not shut off engine, it is disabled due to the 55%. (of course, some would like this) I was going to purchase this, but they are saying i should get the Genius 5. Thanks for the replies in advance.

Seems to be working ok for me. It keeps my system from going to sleep. I have a couple of circuits that stay hot and draw a minimal amount of current. Without the charger, it goes to sleep in about 36 hours.

Purchased the Genius 5 and the auto-stop-start now works and battery is above 70% I assume. They work great!

I have several Noco Genius 1's laying around for ATVs/Generators/tractors/etc - and that works just fine in the Bronco if you are able to let it set overnight. They are very small little packages, but they are set up like wall warts, so you probably wouldn't want to underhood mount it like you can the Genius 2. They do have a ring terminal adapter that has a Noco-specific quick connect that's smaller than a 110 plug though, and that I have wired in all my small engines.

Last year I got a bigger Noco Genius 10 to support Forscan/FDRS programming. It's a lot bigger, you wouldn't want to mount that under the hood, but works as expected.

I have about a dozen of these things in various sizes. They work great and seem to last. I haven't had one fail yet. Although, pricing creep is definitely a thing - keep an eye on 'sales' at the Jungle Website if you don't need it immediately.

For the Bronco, I pretty much keep my Ecoflow in it now and use the reverse charging feature on the DC to DC charger. No more plugging it in when it has to sit for a while.
