Eaton Truetrac LSD?

Hi.

I recently purchased an OB Bronco. I know I should have gotten the rear locker and I wanted it but impossible to get in Mexico. Only 2 choices available... BL with vinyl and manual seats (did not want) or OB with leather electric seats (wanted this).

I don't NEED a locker, but it's nice to have.

I am thinking of adding an LSD.

I also think that I will need a ring gear since the one in the Bronco is welded to the open diff.

Any chance someone could confirm?

There is a true trac that should fit the front as well. I have one sitting in my house. I have not taken the time to open up the front diff yet. The gears are likely welded, so it is likely that changing to a true trac will require a set of gears that are compatible with the differential housing.

In a year or two it will be cheaper to buy a set of used axles lol. My problem is I like the 4.27 gearing but would like a tru trac style in the front that would just work and not have to worry about turning it on or off. Or having it on and turning the wheels too fast and binding/breaking things.

Not sure if one is available for our axle, but always replace ring & pinon gears as a set. They are designed as a set. Also replace carrier & pinon bearings. Start fresh to avoid problems later as you are already in there. Just cheap insurance. :cool:

I am seeing that it will be a little difficult. I don't know if I want to mess about with a brand new vehicle that costs 70K in Mexico. I can't find anyone that has done what I want to do (mostly because in the USA its very cheap to get the lockers from factory and build it out to your heart's content).

I think I might wait a year or so until there are more people out there without lockers who have upgraded to LSD's.

Too bad, I was hoping I might even have gotten a Grizzly in there.

Perhaps in the future somebody will figure out a way to install e-lockers and integrate into GOAT modes.
