Engine shut off and system rebooted

Was in 4H and was finishing up coming down my favorite dirt rode to work called cry baby and stopped at the bottom to put it in 4A and the Bronc shut off and rebooted. No other issues and it hasn't happened again. Anyone else experience this?

The engine shut off? That would be new.

I've seen the infotainment do an unexpected reboot but it did not have an affect on the engine.

It was the whole system. The dash booted up to the calm screen. Wasn’t the auto start.

Yeah it just shut off and the whole dash and info system rebooted. I had to start it back up.

This sounds like what happened in my husbands F150 (2.7 auto trans) a couple of weeks ago. Transmission couldn’t shift properly and then it just shut down. He was able to restart after a few minutes. The dealership couldn’t find anything wrong when we took it in. I swear these things are just computers with engines in them.

I agree. They can update at any time or just reboot.

Figured out the problem myself. Things started getting worse on my way home one day on the freeway. Screen blacked out and everything started going haywire. Pulled off the exit and popped the hood. Started messing with the terminals on the battery and the negative was loose. Must not have been tightened good enough at stereo install. Got home and tried tightening it more but it still moves a little. Haven't had a problem since. Also could be from the wash board dirt roads I take to work. Glad that was all it was.
