Extending tailgate spare tire rubber bumper?

I went with 17x9 with a -12 offset and now have a gap/lost lower support from the rubber bump stop to the tire. Anyone have any suggestions where to find an extended bump stop replacement? I am only finding replacement parts for Jeeps. I attached a photo showing the issue I’m having. Thanks!

You can go with the cheapest option and sandwich a racquetball between the tire and the rubber bumper.

Or get a trim-to-fit spare tire bumper.

If this is supposed to rest on the spare tire, mine never did from day one. I have a bit of a gap like you do.

Will look to see what people say as well. Though honestly, my tire is very secured, does not move, and I am not sure what the rubber touching my tire would do.

3 different lengths available from Ford. A piece of aluminum tubing inside the existing bumper with a rubber tip from a cane or walker. Plenty of threads on here covering this.

Spreads the load to prevent stress cracks. That spare vibrates a lot more than you think going down the road there by stress cracking the sheet metal. There are posts on here from those who found out he hard way.

There are some universal cut-to-fit bumpers for jeeps that will work. I used some from Energy Supension.

Measured what I needed which was 3/4” and went on e-bay and found a rubber 2” x 3/4” . Added it to the Ford rubber

Anyone else with the factory sized wheel/tire combo (35” Sasquatch setup) find their bump stops aren’t touching the spare tire? I assumed this was just an aftermarket setup issue.

Got -25 offset wheels, and 10 dollars racquetball black balls. Firm grip. Still holding strong for 2 years and counting.

I used this.... https://barnes4wd.com/products/bronco-spare-tire-extended-bumper It is very good, as you can trim it to make fit. Soft rubber, easy to cut, and stays in place. I get no movement from the tire. It only acts as a steadier for the tire, but works well.
