Has anyone installed or seen an external hookup for on-board compressed air? I saw a picture or video (possibly from SEMA) that had a modified gas cap and air hookup side by side. Trying to figure out if this was a custom job or if there are products to accomplish this.

youre referring to onboard air, likely a compressor mounted under the hood or under the back where factory spare tires go that feed that line. We do have customers who purchase air tanks, 2g, 4g, 5g... to mount in spare tire locations and you can pressurize that to save and use on the trail (similar to the design of a Power Tank). Or you can get a single or twin compressor (depending on tire size and speed at which you want inflated) and run it to a discreet or easy access location so you arent having to pop the hood on the trail to use the air.

We keep twin and single air compressors from ARB and other brands in stock along with the vehicle specific mounts if you want to give us a shout and ill get you hooked up with a forum discount on the kit!

Most of these installs are "custom" in the sense that the compressor and a vehicle specific mounting bracket is usually purchased, then the piping/routing of the hose/lines is individual basis determined. Some have attached to bumpers, gas caps, in the back when you open the tailgate.... All depends on whats convenient for you and your application.

Yup. We actually have our patent pending air compressor mounting system for the Bronco available right here: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/kr-off-road-air-compressor-engine-bay-kit-for-2021-ford-bronco/

This mounts the ARB air compressor under the hood.

The rest is custom. We've had customers mount a coupler in their front bumper. Others put 2 (one on each side) but it's all custom at that point where you put the coupler. There is no "kit" for that what you want (the gas tank one). We even have one customer who has a flip down front license plate and when it flips down, he's got his air connection right there.

So you'd have to do that part custom. But as far as mounting the compressor, check out our kit. We were the first ones to come out with the onboard air solution and it's one of the most popular systems (and easiest to install)

I went with the 4x4TruckLED one and am very happy with it. I opted to keep the switch under the hood vs. using an AUX switch, as I felt if I'm hooking up under the hood I would rather have the on/off switch right next to it for convenience.

You could easily relocate the hook up connector elsewhere though.
