I love the look of this. Can the rear towers holding the Rotopax be installed independently of the roof rack? My 78-inch Thule crossbars require that I use the factory roof rails and I really can't deviate from this because the items I carry often require every bit of the 78".
Yes the tower, basket, and front assembly are all independent and one of the benefits from our design. In regards to 78”, we’re designing an attachment to provide the full ceiling for storage.

I do want to add some info here (trial and error on my part and maybe some savings for the rest of ya).
IF you are planning on carrying single pax and not double-stacked the off-brand ones on Amazon are perfectly fine and work great.
However, the extensions both name brand and Amazon-sold off brand are NOT the same thread pitch as the handle on the off-brand.
I ended up double-stacking 2 each of water and fuel, so I had to get official Rotopax mounts for the extensions to work.
I tried both name brand and off brand extensions and they are identical in appearance and thread pitch.
The difference is, for whatever reason, in the actual mount itself when considering saving a few bucks and going Amazon for those.
But again, if you only plan on single-stack, the off brand is fine.
And as long as you don't want locking handles. Name brand is the only way to go there, and they require regular maintenance, FWIW.

Also, sometimes you can catch 2 gal, blem units on the Rotopax site and save $$. I bought a blem one for I think $25, full price on the other container.

For water the GoWesty add-on spout is pretty handy.

Good luck!

Don’t forget to take into account the additional weight that is being added to the tailgate. I personally wouldn’t pack all that extra weight on the spare tire without reinforcing the tailgate (unless it was JUST the Jerry cans).
