My FE was built 6 weeks ago. It has been sitting in that mud hole of a holding lot ever since. Now I’m told that ideally (if they don’t screw up the new top) it will continue to sit there until likely November. Can’t anyone say LOT ROT?

Oh I’m pumped. Pumped about the new TRD Pro I’m about to go buy. Good riddance FORD.
I would literally love any factual backup and evidence that "lot rot" is a thing.

If i found out my 60k vehicle was sitting outside for months on end.....i would think about dropping it. But still could probably turn it over for a profit.
But i still have a second res to "redeem"

Leaving a car out in the weather surely can't be good, and certainly isn't expected with a custom order.
I know my wifes car normally garage kept, quickly had clogged weep holes while outside during a renovation.
My mom's 4runner dash started developing cracks after being left outside for longer periods of time.

Not statistically significant data set, but there is def added stress on materials being left in the sun and weather than sitting in one's garage.

It absolutely is. At the very least all of those vehicles are going to need full paint decon and correction. Then you have to hope the critters have stayed away, and that the faulty roofs are keeping the weather out. Next depending on how long they sit, you have the problem of anything rubber beginning to degrade. Tires, weather stripping, seals, they all start to go bad sitting out in the elements and not being driven. That stuff should be fine for next 6 months or so, but I wouldn't be at all shocked to see the weather stripping or plastic trim on the sunny side of the vehicle show up faded.

I’d be more worried about the huge thunderstorms and 70 mile hour winds that rolled through that area last night!

Is hail a thing in Michigan? I'm imagining 2000+ Broncos needing all new body panels after a big hailstorm...

In Michigan not so much but it definitely happened to tens of thousands of rental cars that were sitting in Hawaii during the initial shut down in 2020. Rats got into the cars along with plenty of jungle rot and mildew.

Be honest. The soft top is complete garbage. It looks like shit, scratches the paint, tears easily and scratches the opening of your garage door when left in the half open position 😜
It is, that’s why I wouldn’t accept one.

Relax, you’ll be sitting here waiting for your bronco just like everyone else.

There was hail last night throughout Metro Detroit and currently 600,000 people do not have power. I would say we’ve had and abundance amount of hail storms this summer. It’s just luck of the draw if it happens where you live or where those Broncos are parked.

Ya so all the people that live around that dirt pile with cars parked in their driveway have bad rubber after 6 months.....lmao. Get real. The wait sucks but parked there for a while is a non issue. Hail, sure that happens then they all get shipped to Saudi.

After reading way too much info on this forum here's my prediction:
not all FE will be 2021

There is a chart on a different thread that says FE not yet scheduled "Likely 2021". That word likely is one hint.

Mike Levine said recently on Twitter that the "goal" was to make all FE 2021.

Unscheduled FE need to wait for all the other hardtops on delivered units and famous lot units to be built before scheduling. Ford has said the new hardtop is available for the first customers (those that already have a bad MIC) by October. That's another goal and could mean Oct 31st, but looking at all the past deadlines it's more realistic to think they won't be ready by Oct. That's a lot of things that have to go perfectly for all FE to be built before the 2022 production starts. Now I suppose they could still run MAP until late Dec or Jan for the final FE builds and call them 2021. That also seems unlikely. We'll see....
